924 AF3.406288δ - Third Person POV
Rays of early morning light crept through the blinds and cast warmth onto the two naked bodies wrapped in each other's arms. After a long night of becoming reacquainted with one another's bodies and rhythms, the two found comfort and a sense of right that quickly brought exhaustion and rest. The room was quiet and serene with nothing but the sounds of their soft breathing and the occasional shuffling of one of them moving impossibly closer to the other. Eventually, when (y/n)'s nose grazed the sensitive skin below Emerald's ear, Emerald shifted and groaned.
"You have to let Argus out..." She mumbled sleepily, her voice raspy with sleep.
"Mmm." (y/n) responded, but didn't move.
"(y/n)... let him out before he pees on the carpet..."
After a few seconds, (y/n) lifted his head from its warm spot and gave Emerald a confused look. "Hm?"
Emerald had yet to open her eyes. She simply laid on her side, letting her fingers run through (y/n)'s soft hair. "You have to let him out or else he'll pee on the carpet again..." She clarified.
"Em?" (y/n) placed a hand on Emerald's cheek and rubbed her skin softly with her thumb, letting his eyes take in the beautiful figure in front of him. It almost didn't feel real. after years of searching and nothing to show for it, (y/n) was reluctant to believe he was finally waking up next to Emerald, and yet the proof was right there in front of him, stirring lightly.
"Hmm?" Emerald could only muster a small response, distracted by the soft touch on her cheek. She loved the way (y/n) was gentle with her in the mornings. She smiled to herself and slowly, her eyes fluttered open to take in (y/n)'s eyes. Upon seeing them, her smile grew ever so slightly and she closed her eyes again, comfortable in (y/n)'s bed. "Morning..."
After a few seconds of silence and no response from (y/n), Emerald opened her eyes out of curiosity and finally caught the drift of (y/n)'s confused nature.
"What?" She asked.
"Do you know where you are?" (y/n) asked.
Emerald furrowed her brow, too tired to play guessing games with (y/n). It was then that something caught her eye. The light was entering the room from the wrong side. For a moment, her mind tried to comprehend how that was even possible until she lifted her head and lazily scanned the room. She cocked her head slightly as (y/n) watched, waiting for it to click in her head.
After a few seconds, Emerald's brows raised. "Oh..."
"Yeah." (y/n) chuckled and pulled Emerald back down onto the bed against his chest, enjoying the feeling of her warm skin against his own. "It happens to me too." (y/n) said as he tucked Emerald's head under his chin and ran his fingers through her hair. (y/n) had gotten used to the confusion that came with waking up after a dream. He'd woken up multiple times thinking he was in another reality before his mind would process his surroundings and regain a grasp of his current reality. This time though, he was thankful that this reality now would allow him to wake up next to Emerald. (y/n) gave Emerald a firm squeeze against him, just to make sure it still wasn't a dream, content with knowing that he would no longer wake up to disappointment.
"That's a weird feeling..." Emerald mumbled against (y/n) chest before stretching slightly and wrapping her arms around (y/n)'s back, the feeling of (y/n)'s warm body slowly lulled her back to sleep. She smiled and moaned sleepily. She was ready to spend an eternity wrapped up in (y/n)'s fluffy blankets again. The night before reminded her of how comfortable she felt around (y/n).
Emerald bit her lips slightly as she thought back to pinning (y/n) underneath her. She hadn't realized how much she had missed those fun and intimate moments she could share with him. That feeling of being so strangely natural and vulnerable with him and knowing she could simply trust him. That she could touch, hold, and share these intimate moments with (y/n) and never feel self-conscious or nervous. It was a feeling Emerald wasn't sure she could ever experience with anyone, but that was before (y/n) showed up at the hospital, absurdly claiming a memory that spans generations and knowledge of past lives. Emerald ran her fingers lightly over (y/n)'s flesh and felt the man shudder at the sensation. An enjoyable reaction to say the least. Maybe they would have time to make love again before she had to leave for work. Her heart wanted to hear (y/n) exhaustedly talking into her ear as their bodies moved in sync.
