chapter eighteen The Helicopter
"Seriously, Tony?" Natasha yelled as she supported half of Ray's unconscious body. "She didn't know that!"
Stark looked between everyone. "And how was I supposed to know that? All I was told was that he had a secret daughter."
"You're so stupid, sometimes!" Natasha yelled, tired and exhausted from all the fighting recently. It seemed like everyone was at each other's necks over the past few weeks. "Are you going to help me or just stand there?"
"Oh, right." Tony moved to grab Ray's legs and together they lifted her up. "Thank God she's missing a leg. She would be much heavier."
"You know what, I don't want to hear another thing come out of your mouth." Natasha snapped.
Tony only rolled his eyes. "What are we doing with her?"
"Sharon, can you call an ambulance or something? She needs to go to the hospital." Natasha asked.
"I'll drive." Tony said. "It'll be faster than waiting for an ambulance to get here. Come on, I'm sorry, okay?"
"Fine. Let's go."
They found a few body guards outside the offices that helped carry Ray's unconscious body up the stairs. They had just entered the ground floor when evacuation sirens started to blast and they heard people screaming.
"Oh, no. This can't be good." Tony said. They peered around the corner to see the Winter Solider in full action.
"This should be fun." Natasha sighed. She then turned to the guards. "Get her outside. Bucky cannot see her. Understand."
But of course the guards didn't truly understand. They were company hired men who's worst day was when someone's security code didn't work. They had never seen something like this.
Bucky saw Ray as soon as the guards tried to get to the door.
"God, these people can't take direction." Tony sighed. He didn't want to have to get involved. He didn't bring a suit.
Natasha was the first one to go after the Solider. She couldn't let him get to Ray. He didn't know what kind of memories he would have when it came to her and she needed things safe rather than sorry.
But Bucky was strong. The same serum that ran through Captain America ran through him and he was nearly unstoppable.
Before long Ray was in his arms and the body guards were down.
