a/n: tom is lisa's brother in case you forgot k
"To live and not to breathe, to die in tragedy!" Michael and Lisa sung together to Jesus of Suburbia by Green Day. Lisa's mood had gotten considerably better because, well, why should she be stressed right now anyway? She did her best cleaning her apartment and honestly, she doubted Tom would really even bother. He would probably be very indifferent towards the tidiness of her place.
"To run, to run away, to fight what you believe!" They laughed as Lisa horribly sang along. Michael could honestly sing quite well, his voice had an edgy, dangerous tone to it, and she liked it a lot.
"Dude," Lisa began, "You can secretly sing, did you know that?"
"What?" Michael blushed a bit, he really enjoyed singing, but it was something about himself he wanted to keep hidden, he thought he wouldn't be taken seriously. "I can't sing."
"Yes you can!" Lisa insisted, "It's fun and it's kind of edgy, it's really cool."
"Well then you shouldn't have told me that because now I'm not going to sing in front of you again... ever." Michael muttered.
"Why?" Lisa pouted, "I literally just complimented you! If anything, it means you should sing in front of me more often."
"Well, I'm not going to."
"What about our jam sessions in the car, like right now, don't they mean anything? Aren't they fun?" Lisa exaggerated and Michael's mouth twitched. He was trying not to smile.
"They don't mean anything, and no, they aren't fun." He managed to say keeping a straight face.
"Fuck you, Clifford."
"Fuck you right back, Simpson."
"My last name is not Simpson, you douche."
"Then who's Lisa Simpson?" Michael teased.
"A fictional character." Lisa rolled her eyes. Michael constantly teases her about her being Lisa Simpson from The Simpson's, he thinks it's hilarious and as much as Lisa hates to admit it, she kind of does too.
Although sometimes it did get kind of annoying.
"Then fuck you right back, Turner," He countered, using her correct last name this time.
"There you go!"
They continued singing to some more songs, and as Michael previously threatened, he was singing a bit more quietly, which annoyed Lisa.
"Oh, seriously Michael?" She scoffed and crossed her arms in front of her chest in annoyance. "You're barely even singing, don't leave me jamming out to 'Dammit' alone, it's like our theme song. Besides, thou shalt always jam out to Blink-182 when given the opportunity"
"Can you really blame me? I don't know... It's just weird," He muttered.
Lisa rolled her eyes. "Whatever Mike, just pretend I didn't say anything and just jam it out, we're not too far from the airport anyways."
"No need to get pissy about it," Michael turned to her and poked her cheek.
"Eyes on the road, Clifford," Lisa tried not to smile.
"You got it, Simpson," He turned again to - indeed - keep his eyes on the road.
"I swear to god, I will punch you Michael, you're extra annoying tonight." Lisa didn't mean what she was saying, it was just playful banter between the two. They always did that kind of things.
"You're extra annoying, like... every second." Michael spoke under his breath.
"Nice comeback," Lisa said sarcastically.
"Shut up, I hate you."
"You love me," She retaliated.
"I sure as hell don't," He countered.
"You sure as hell do."
"I don't."
"You do."
"I don't."
"You do. You can keep going, Michael, I can do this all day," Lisa laid back a bit in her seat, kicking her feet up the dashboard, as if to emphasize that she could actually do this all day.
"Fine," Michael sighed in defeat, "I love you, Lisa, and you're quite annoying."
"Thanks!" Lisa smiled, "I try my best, Michael, I really do."
Michael didn't reply after that, he just smiled. It was moments like this where he realized how much he actually treasured his friendship with Lisa. He spent most of his free time with her and even though there were plenty of times that he got frustrated with Lisa, to the point he wanted to rip his hair out, he loved her quite dearly. In fact, they were going to be roommates - once upon a time, a long time ago - but in hopes of keeping their sanity, they decided against it. However, they might as well be roommates, seeing as if Michael isn't Lisa's place is because she's at his place and vice versa.
They were getting closer and closer to the airport, and this time Michael did actually sing loudly to the song that was played, in hopes to not annoy Lisa any further.
That's why Lisa loved long car trips while she was accompanied, she loved singing songs from the top of her lungs until her chest felt tight, and that's what she did.
Michael almost didn't want to get to the airport. They were laughing and singing and sharing a moment with each other, which was deemed to be over soon since they were close to their destination.
"Let's make resolutions, I've only got problems and no so-lu-tions!" They both sang loudly, while Lisa was headbanging to Fresh Start Fever by You Me At Six. Michael laughed and eventually, imitated her, aslo headbanging to said song.
"Oh, heart of mine, sing a sad song, sing a sad song, warning you, oh heart of mine, sing a sad song!" Lisa also loved these moments with Michael, where she could just let her inner punk-rock girl out (she wasn't actually punk-rock, though, let's be real) and jam out to these tunes, and hey, even if she couldn't hit a note even if her life depended on it, she might as well try around Michael.
"Welcome to the future, dream a little big, dream a little bigger," They finished the song conveniently the moment they got to the airport, so Michael turned the radio off and looked for a place to park his car. Once found, he positioned his vehicle in said spot and turned it off.
Both of them let out big sighs, followed by a few small laughs when they got out of their car. Sometimes pretending to be a rockstar could be exhausting, but neither of them really minded it.
"Let's look for your brother, shall we?" Michael suggested.
"We shall," Lisa agreed.
