I check myself in the mirror, looking to see if my very basic outfit looked okay. Luke, being the unorganised guy that he is, never told me where we were going so I just put on something casual. My cream sweater drapes loosely across my shoulders and my blue skinny jeans, surprisingly, fit perfectly. My hair is shoved messily into a bun and cream ballet flats cover my feet. I guess I look okay, but no where near as good as Luke's gonna look. I'm applying a final coat of mascara when I hear the doorbell. Carefully opening my bedroom door, I find my dad blocking the exit.

"There's a charming young man at the door who says that you're going on a date, is this true Jane?" He asks, his hands placed firmly on his hips.

"Yes." I mumble, staring down at my feet.

"Well, you know what I said about boyfriends, but he seems nice enough. A polite, smartly dressed boy is hard to find nowadays, you're lucky you found him." He steps out the way so I can continue my route to the front door. As I skip down the stairs I think about my fathers last comment, since when was Luke polite? He's constantly swearing and saying rude things. And smartly dressed? Luke doesn't know the meaning of the phrase.

"Hey Luke." I say, giving him a puzzled look. Luke Hemmings was standing at my door wearing a black tuxedo. His hair was slicked back and he was smiling politely at my mother, for once without his lip ring.

"Hi." He grins in reply. "Are you ready to leave?"

I quickly grab my bag from where it was lying on the floor. "Yep."

My mom gives me a quick hug goodbye. "Be back by ten, okay?"

"I will." I promise her. As soon as she shuts the door, Luke begins to act more like Luke.

"I really need to get out of this thing." He complains, pulling at the tie wrapped tightly around his neck.

"Why are you even wearing that?" I laugh.

"I wanted to impress your mom, I think she'd kinda hate me if I turned up looking like normal." I think back to all the shirts Luke normally wears. 99% of the time it's band tees, but occasionally he'll wear a T-shirt with an inappropriate phrase written across it.

"Point taken." I chuckle.

He opens the door of his car (well, really it was Jack's) and let's me in before jumping into the trunk.

"Luke, why on earth are you in there?" I laugh.

"I've gotta get out of this suit somehow, and I know that you don't want me stripping in front of you. But I could if you prefer." He smirks.

"Nope, I'd rather you stay in there if I'm honest."

After a minutes of him shuffling around trying to get dressed, he stops.

"Jane," he says, poking the top half of his body over the backseats. "Can you pass me my shirt, it's somewhere on the floor?"

Before I can answer my eyes are distracted by him. Luke's shirtless and his hair a complete mess. He's finally put his lip ring in, and that just adds to his look. He looks absolutely amazing. "Erm...yes...shirt." I mumble, searching around the floor of the car for any signs of a top.

"Or I could keep it off if you prefer." He laughs.

"Just put the damn shirt on." I reply, throwing him a crumpled Nirvana T-shirt. He pulls the shirt over his head before getting into the drivers seat.
