"You're just a little bit out of my limit." I roll over on the creaky mattress to the sound of the four boys harmonizing.
"It's been two years now, haven't even seen the best of me."
The four boys stood as close to the edge of their cells as they could get, trying to be as near to each other as possible. They stood and they sang whilst the cop, who was supposedly watching us, was slumped on the office chair snoring almost as loud as the boys singing.
"Morning." I yawn.
The boys slowly stop singing, "Morning Jane, how'd you-" Luke's interrupted by another officer entering the room.
"I have great news!" He grins before taking a large gulp of his coffee. "Jake, wake up, you're supposed to be working." He nudges the other cop.
"You said you had news?" Calum asks.
"Oh yeah. We're letting you guys go. The real culprits came in this morning, admitted it and everything. We checked it over with the victim and it's all good, she says it wasn't you."
"So we can leave?" Ashton asks, his face breaking into a smile.
The cop scratches his neck. "Yeah, sorry about the confusion. Just a case of wrong place, wrong time."
After a long time of the cops trying to find the keys and us taking forever to leave, we're back at the hotel.
"Ah, I've missed this shithole." Ashton smiles, wrapping his arms around the receptionist. She stands there awkwardly whilst he continues to hug her.
"Nice to see you too, sir." She finally says, prising Ashton's arms off her.
"Do you know where the nearest coffee shop is?" Luke asks.
The receptionists face lights up. "Yes! If you go out the door, take the first left-"
"Luke." Calum says as he drags Luke towards the stairs. "I think I've had enough going outside for this trip."
Luke pouts. "But I just want some coffee."
"We serve coffee!" The receptionist pipes up.
Taking one look at the run-down cafe in the corner of the lobby, Calum doesn't look eager. "We can go to Starbucks on the way home."
And two days later, we did. After two crazy shows, two nights in a dodgy hotel and two hours being very, very lost on the journey, we finally arrive back at home.
"And you're sure that your family won't mind me living with you?" I ask as the car gets nearer and nearer the house.
"I'm sure." Luke assures me.
My palms begin to get sweaty, "But what if they don't want me there? I don't have anywhere to go!"
Luke takes one hand in his. "They love you, Jane. They'll love having you in the house."
The car slows to a halt outside the Hemmings residence and we step out into the cold, fresh air.
"Luke!" Liz runs out the house to greet her son. "Did you have a good weekend?"
"Yeah, the shows were great." He grins, hugging his mom.
"And Jane!" She smiles. "Were the boys good?"
"Yeah, it was a pretty fun time." I answer.
Luke coughs. "Erm, mom?"
"Yes?"
"You know Jane? Of course you know Jane, I'm being an idiot. Well, she has parents and they erm-"
"They kicked me out." I explain.
Her face drops in shock and she reaches out to hug me. "What? Why did they do that?"
"You know that party the other night? My parents found out I went, and then they said I had to stay away from the boys but then they saw that I was going away for the weekend and skipping a bit of school and, long story short, they got pissed off and kicked me out."
"Why would someone do that to their child?" Liz mutters.
"Well, to help improve things, I thought Jane could come and live with us, if that's okay?" Luke adds.
"Yes, yes of course." She replies helping me take my bag into the house.
"I love you guys!" I exclaim, hugging both of the Hemmings.
-
"Jane?" Luke asks, looking up from his phone.
"Yep?" I reply.
"Me and the lads have to go to a quick meeting with Max, do you wanna come or -?"
"Yeah, I'll come. Not much else to do."
As we swing open the creaky door to Max's cheap, rented office, I see the other three boys already waiting. Max was sitting at the head off the table, his large frame taking up most of the battered office chair.
"Nice for you to finally arrive." Max says gruffly. "I see you're still with her then."
"Well, she is my girlfriend." Luke replies.
Max doesn't reply and instead begins the meeting. "How were the shows then?"
Calum stands up. "Great, but the rest of it was pretty fucking awful!"
"Calm down." Max says, gently pushing Calum back into the seat.
"No, I won't calm down. First of all, I'm surprised that hotel you booked us is even allowed to stay open. They had rats!"
"And there wasn't a elevator!" Michael complains.
"It was a mess!" I agree.
"And don't forget when we got arrested!" Ashton adds.
Max leans forward over the table. "You boys, got arrested?"
"And Jane." Michael corrects.
"I just- how am I supposed to get you guys more gigs when you ended up arrested at the last one?" Max shouts.
We all remain silent, worried that Max would have a bigger outburst.
"I'll try and sort out some more shows, just promise me you'll try and stay out of jail next time." He mutters, waving us out the room.

I'm sorry about how shitty this chapter was. I needed a filler and this was the best I had, next chapter should be a hell of a lot better.
