I want you to want me this way
And I need you to need me to stay
If you say that you don't feel a thing
If you don't know, let me go

The song blares out my phone from the message Luke had sent me. Sure, it wasn't perfect, it was just a recording of Luke with his guitar playing a song he'd only just written. But the lyrics were amazing. I understood exactly what he was feeling and why he wrote it.

"Was this about me?" I ask.

"Yeah." He replies. "The thoughts, the feelings, everything I felt while you were gone."

"You could've spoken to me."

"But I knew you'd moved on, it was obvious that you didn't want to be friends or anything."

"Well, I'm here now. And I've missed you more than you'll ever know. The day that I stormed out your house, I just sat and watched TV and ate chocolate that whole day."

He looks up at me, "But I thought you didn't care..."

"I cared a lot, that's why I left."

We sit in a peaceful silence, my fingers have become wrapped around Luke's and I'm happy that we're actually with each other now. I find my head leaning on Luke's shoulder, and all the problems of the past weeks seem to disappear.

"I've missed this." Luke whispers.

"Still just friends." I tease.

"I still haven't taken you on that second date." He replies.

I chuckle lightly, "Who's says we're having a second date?"

"I do. The first date was pretty shit."

"No, it was just below average." I laugh. I hear the door being slammed shut, I guess dad got home early. But then three teenage boys come charging into the room.

"Luke, what the hell are you doing here?" Michael asks.

"Hanging with Jane." He says, wrapping his arm around my shoulders.

Ashton slumps casually into an armchair, "But I thought you were dating Amber?"

"Dude, you know I kinda made him do that, right?" Michael says, throwing himself beside Luke on the sofa.

"Guys, what the hell are you doing in my house?" I interrupt.

"Came to look for Lukey boy, he wasn't at his house, so I had the genius idea that he came running back to you." Calum replies.

Ashton grabs a banana from the fruit bowl, "Oh, and we needed to tell you, Luke, we've got a show next week."

"Next week? We've not got enough time to practise, we're not ready, who's idea was this?" Luke says, beginning to pace around the room.

"Mine." Michael answers. "There's gonna be managers in the audience, we could actually get somewhere in our career because of this."

"You could've given me a bit more notice!"

"Sorry about that, but we only found out an hour ago, and then we had to come and find you." Calum says.

"Can we go to my house? We urgently need practice - Jane, you can come with us, if you want to." Luke says, the words firing out his mouth incredibly quickly.

"Yeah, just no more practicing in the dark." I chuckle.

"C'mon, we've got to play voodoo doll, they'll love it!"

"No, they need to hear heartbreak girl!"

"I really think that 18 is the best choice."

"I still think that it's stupid if we don't play good girls."
