What just happened back there?  I was not able to have gotten out of there fast enough before he'd see sweat all over my face, from how hot it got in there, the way he kept gazing at me.

I have to laugh at this one.  I'm so not in the loop on picking up guys, let alone, this young man back there. However, If you ask me, he was flirting. I'm not that old to realize.  I must've had three kegel movement's back there. And that has to be a first.

I can not believe how my body reacted when his hand brushed mine, giving me a spark, I've never felt.  What was he thinking about as he was staring at me the way he was?

What a beautiful smile he had.  He just struck nerve damage, down my body.  I need to stop and think rationally. I'm never going to see that...that young man again or even thoughts about someone young as he looked.

What a shame though, he was perfectly well built I might say.

Thank god, my job is down the block. I would hate for Anna, my secretary to see how he made me flush.

Finally, I get to my haven where I've spent the last 10 years with the same sequence of events.  Working with my peers, working from home, weekends, getting the promotion I've worked hard to receive in the last year.

I mean, I've set my goals and got to where I am now, just to give Lyla what she needs.  I guess you can say, I've learned it from the X-husband, who made it his number one priority to be at work more hours including weekends and then forgets, who he was married too.

I do have to admit, I'm proud to say my hard work has paid off.  Lyla's college is paid for, as she will become her advocate to make decisions based on what I've shown and taught her along the way.  It wasn't that grace for me when I graduated college, as my parents still choose my future and the kicker, got married right after.

The elevator finally reaches my floor, from the usual stops before mine. I step out and walk directly ahead and see Anna, as she sits in the foyer of the company. She is my assistant as well as the company receptionist. Tall, slim, outgoing and very nosey, I do have to say.

"Good morning Anna" I greet

"Good morning Mrs. Taylor" she replies chirpy. A little too chirpy for me.

"I see you went to your favorite spot for your coffee," she says as she notices the name on my bag. I quickly look, I forgot I had the bag in hand.  Wow, this man has made my head swirl with thoughts.

"Oh yes, love it there, everything's fresh" I express.

"I try and make it there early enough to beat the rush hour" she replies.

Oh, so she might've run into the mystery youngin and probably made her as uncomfortable as he made me.

"I know, I must've been on the line, for a good five minutes or so," I reply.

"Any messages?" I ask as I try to cut the chit chat about the damn coffee shop. I think we are done talking about that hot scene back there.

"Yes, Anthony called...he needs the new client reports updated and sent to his email, so he can approve and agree on before the Cocktail Reception next month," she says all in one breathe while looking at the computer's messaging board. Does he not know I'm on top of this.

I'm the one in charge of that project. He did bring another character in to try and help me with planning.  Anthony, my lovely boss, who requires my attention at all means as he golfs, through the days' end.  What a life.

"Is that all?" I ask

"Oh, and your mother called" my face shifts.  How many times does she have to call? She doesn't get, I don't want to take your calls. It kills her to know, she has no power over me, the way my father and she had during my adolescent years.

"Thank you, Anna, please screen my calls, unless it is Anthony or Lyla," I requested. I walk away, looking at my coffee. I take a quick sip.

"What about your mother" she persists.

"Anthony or Lyla, thank you, Anna" I reply still walking with my back towards her, raising my hand, holding the famous muffin bag.

"Oh, I'm sorry, Mrs. Taylor, but Brian is also looking for you" she speaks up louder like I can't hear her since I did just walk away.  Does she insist on screaming out messages when I walk away from her? I forgot to add, she's one of those, who keep chatting after you say goodbye, and doesn't seem to see anything wrong with it.

"Thanks again," I say from afar. I doubt she heard me, I'm basically by my office already.

I get into my office. Place my purse down on my office couch, located right next to my entrance doorway and walk to my desk. Put my coffee and my bag of treats on it, sit down and sigh.

What a crazy morning.  Why do I feel my underwear moist? I laugh at the morning sex show, I was just in. Why do I have this funny feeling Linda was up to this. This is something Linda would do, asking one of her young men she recruits, trying to play matchmaker.  Hmm. As much as I want to say it's Linda, playing this joke, she knows very well, how I feel about young men, not in my age group. But, how young was he?

I get myself situated. Power up my computer screens. A moment later, Anna's phone line buzzes off.  I look at the light flickering and press her button.

"Yes, Anna" I speak up, as I'm on the intercom.

"Anthony is on the line"

"Thank you, transfer him" I reply letting out a deep breath, getting myself ready.  watching my software load up.

"Good Morning, Anthony" I gracefully say as he's on speaker.

"Good morning Alix, How's your morning?"

Oh, it's been great, I almost came in my underwear looking at a young man up and down as he watched me make a total fool of myself drooling over him, as he made me nervous as hell and which I'll never see again.  Is what I wanted to blur out.

"It's wonderful, now that you called' I answered sarcastically, scrolling through some emails on one computer, then quickly looking at some numbers he's asking for on the other.

"Perfect" he blurred out

"Anna told me what you need. I'm on it as we speak"

"You see, that's why I chose you to be, head of the Financial Planning and Analysis Dept. I knew you were the right man for it, Alix"

"Yes, thank you again" I reply for the hundredth times he reminds me, of giving me the position.

"So Alix, when your done scrolling though, fix what needs fixing and send it. I'll be golfing with the Smith's today, I'll still be able to see my emails" I roll my eyes.

"Thanks for the invite" I pointed out. Kidding with him.

"Alix you are always welcomed," He says.  like I'll go golfing with a bunch of old men, hovering over me, as I bend down and try to hit a ball that just won't go anywhere. I rather sit here and pant.

"No, it's ok, I think you need me here" I insisted.

"Ok Alix, your the best" he reminds. I know. I pat myself on the back.

As I'm looking through my reports, I wander off as I put my hand under my chin, thinking about this morning back at the coffee shop. Oddly enough, I can't seem to take those eyes, and his smile, out of my mind. I can't stop thinking about how attractive and handsome he was. He seemed very sure of himself, confident. Hmm.

I wonder, where he's from? I've been going to the bagel shop for a good year since it's opened and has never run into him. Or anyone I might say, that made my body shiver the way he did when he touched my hand. And have run into regulars there before.

He must be laughing at the way I acted, nervously around him.  Wow, It was noticeable. I mean, I'm 42, I should know by now how to act when I see something interesting, HOT, as he was.

Nope, I was a total disaster. Shit, I remember Lyla's text.  Did I order the cake? You see, my head is everywhere. I need this day to end quick and safe.
