I hear a knock on the door. I don't think it would be Joe knocking, he couldn't have finished the meeting that soon. I stroll over the door and open it.
I automatically let out a big smile. "Hi, Robert," I said in a happy tone as he's standing there with a tray with what looks like champagne glasses of Mimosa and Bellinis. This is fantastic, how did he know I was ready for a drink and one of my favs to be exact. Robert is definitely a keeper as Linda would say, I feel safe knowing he's around, while Joe is in a meeting.
"Mrs. Alix, would you like something to drink? He asks.
"Sure, how did you guess?" I gave him the 'two minds think alike' look. "Thank you so much, Robert," as he handed me a glass of Mimosa and gave me a wink. You see, he knew I needed it. Would it be rude to take another glass? I wonder, are these both for me or is anyone else around I should know.
"Robert, do you know how long the meeting will be?" I took the advantage to ask. And anywho, where is this so-called meeting taking place.
"I'm not sure, Mrs. Alix, I'll find out for you" he responds.
"No, no, it's ok, I'll enjoy some alone time while I can" I politely said but I lied in a way, I don't want alone time, I want him to hurry up so we can be together.
"Is that all?" he askes referring to what's left on the tray, didn't even think twice. "Yes, I'll take another glass, thanks" and grabbed it. I'm going to need it. He gave me the I knew it nod and walked away. I take a quick sip as I walk to my purse. I want to see if I've received calls from work.
I haven't heard from Anthony what's so ever, which is a shocker. I'm surprised he hasn't called to see how my so-called business meeting is going. Is he disappointed or upset with me with everything that happened and about Joe, degrading him in front of Brain and myself, maybe even the colleagues that turned around as Joe was telling them to pick up their jaws off the floor? I'm still in shock with that one. It does work both ways, I haven't tried to call either. I don't know where to begin, I'm also hurt here. Not only did I have to find out who Joe really was and how Anthony and Brian acted. Dumb Asses
Brian has left me 5 messages and texted a couple of times. Why does he have to leave me so many messages and texts? I hate to admit, Joe was right about Brian's intentions. Eventually, I have to know what his real reasons were as he tried to degrade Joe right in front of me. I trusted him. I had never given Brian any intentions of having feelings for him.
I start to delete them as I read them. Joe is not fond of Brian, knowing we had dinner, still kills him and if he sees how many missed calls or texts I've received from Brian, I'd never hear the end of it, telling me 'I told you so' and 'how naive I can be'. UGH, I hate when he's got a point.
I step out to the outside front open porch of our lovely room. My patience is running out as time is passing. The pool in front of me looks inviting, in more ways than one. I love my pool back at home, but this doesn't measure to the one directly in front of our bedroom here in Belize, as it's surrounded by a breathtaking view of nothing but the big blue sea and it's mesmerizing.
I glance down at my watch Joe gave me, it's absolutely stunning. He's got great taste, I keep telling myself. He must've spent a fortune on it and all the rest that were in the drawers back at his house.
Joe and I have to sit and think about what he did back at home, having the closet set for someone who's living there. I have my own at my own home. Jeez, this is what I mean by we have so much we have to talk about, but first things first, when I get home, I will remind myself over and over that I have come clean and be honest with Lyla, I have to tell her everything. I can't keep lying to her, I can't do this to Joe, keep in from my family and friends. And with just the same, there's Joe's life, his family and friends. Do they all know about me?
