"I guess you know more about me then I do about you....you couldn't have just picked out a random number out of a hat" I calmly react swaying my arms under the water. Smirking. Oh, it's on Mr.

"Maybe," he says shrugging his shoulders, grinning. He's so mature for his age and those eyes are dangerous. It's like he's communicating with me with them. I need to look away. Or he needs to leave. One or another. Take it or leave it. But I can't, I admit, I'm feeling amused and find myself inquisitive.

"So tell me, Joe...Lyla said you just got into town...where were you?" I dare to ask.

"I've been here...Just got back from a two-month business trip," he says swaying his hand around under the water, enjoying his flirtatious amusement. Oh, he's having, way to much fun here.

"Oh really...what is it that you do for someone who takes a two-month business trip? I mean, two months is a lot of time away from the family or your girlfriend?" I ask swaying my body around so he doesn't see me squinting my eyes tight to hear his answer on whether or not he has a girlfriend. Shit, if he answers fiance, I'm throwing him the fuck right out.

Smile Alix, calm down.

He automatically laughs at my question. Is he really laughing? But stupid me joins him in.

"What's so funny...why am I laughing with you," I asked amused to know why I am laughing. He's so freaking adorable.

"Nothing, I like the way you through in there the girlfriend part, that's all" He slows his laugh and bits down on his lip looking at me with a SMILE on his face. I can't, I really can't with him and that smile.

"I'm a consultant and I don't have a girlfriend" he answers as he lays comfortably in the water looking up at the night sky as I join him in looking up at the stars and I ask "A consultant?" then look back at him.

"Yes"

"Is that all you do?" I persist.

"Yes...was there something else you wanted me to be since you keep repeating yourself?" he says sternly with his head cocked. Interested to know why I repeated his profession.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be rude" I turn and swim around to not show the embarrassment I put myself in, Again. I can't seem to get a break. It's concluded that I haven't been on many dates or have been in a predicament like this enough, to try and not be able to handle a simple flirtatious conversation.

He's 25, mature, and I can't handle keeping up in this back and forth game.  Where is Linda when I need her.

"What about you?"

"I'm a Financial Analyst" I proudly answer

"Interesting" He replies nodding his head. Interesting he says? Well, it beats being a consultant. I've worked my ass off for too many years to get where I am. You have a good 10 years to get somewhere buddy. Who am I talking to, he's young and doesn't know if he's going to stay as a consultant. I shake my head.

"What's interesting about it?" I challenge quietly

"Is this our get to know you better stage?" He expresses and chuckles

I splash water at him "NO" I answer playful. God, I'm enjoying him.

"I guess I'm just trying to start a conversation since you think I'm nervous around you" swimming away from him. I have to.

"So who was that man, the one who came in two hours late" curiosity killed the cat. Oh shit. He wants to know about Michael and kept tabs on how late he was. He definitely analyzes everything.
