The next couple of days, Joe and I seem to be as any normal relationship would act. Again, he's been so adamant about me staying over his house, which makes it so hard for me knowing Lyla is coming home this week but yet, making it so convenient for him. Figures I might say he's very persuasive in many ways.

As my thoughts are interrupted by the unseasonable fresh air for an early September morning, thank god, I wore a double-breasted beige woman's jacket with a long black pencil skirt. I can hear the leaves crunch under my feet as I walk a bit faster across Joe's driveway to my car. I'm running a little late to work. Damn it's a brisk this morning.

I still can't believe it's almost that time already, my favorite time of the year, Fall and Lyla will be flying in this week. She texted in late Saturday, stating that there were some changes and that she'll be coming in later in the week.

Unfortunately, I don't want to push the subject as too why, not that I want to be selfish and have the need to spend with Joe playing house and all, it's just...I didn't get that chance to enjoy life the way she is doing, and I will keep reminding her to follow all her dreams and fly with it. But let's face it, I need to tell her already, get it out of the way. I can't keep sneaking around this way.

As I walked into my office and stood in front of the reception desk, "Good Morning Alix" Anna greets.

"Good morning Anna," I started,  "Any messages this morning?" I finished as I put my laptop case on the floor and looked over to my bin for new reports.

With a confused look on her face, "No, but Anthony is in your office," she said as if shes thinks something is about to happen. Really? Hmm.

I swear I had the same look as Anna had, "I didn't know he was he was coming this morning, I would've been here earlier?" I paused, and we both stood there. I gazed over to where my office was; the door was opened. My luck, he'll come out and quickly tell me the issue as to why he's here. Not happening, I thought. Shit out of luck now Alix

"Ok," I said to myself as I leaned down and grabbed my bag, and walked towards my office. And here I thought this was going to be a peachy day at work, walk-in and out with no problems. You're two for two this morning Alix, any more thoughts?

I put my game face on as I walked straight through my door. I see Anthony sitting tall on the seat directly in front of my desk. Well, at least he's not on my comfy sofa, that would mean, it'll be a more extended stay for him.

No, thank you!

Even where he was sitting, I saw his neatly Navy suit he was wearing strained his broad shoulders and arms. I do have to admit, Anthony, my boss, my long-time friend, is a very attractive man.

"Good Morning-Anthony," I rush to get it over with. He slightly turns his head and smirks and stood up, "There she is," he happily said.  Well, I guess he's in a good mood—game changer.

"Good Morning, Alix" I smiled and gave him a kiss on the cheek. I quickly pull away and turn my heels and walk to my desk, putting down my laptop on the floor, adjusting my seat and sit down. God, I hate this seat. Maybe I can ask him for a new one, take advantage since he's here.

"Please sit, Is everything OK," I quickly started, "I didn't' know we had a meeting?" I stated I'm surprised he's not out golfing.

He cleared his throat as he sat, "Yes, just wanted to let you know first hand, I'm impressed by how you can grab the world by the balls and be an amazing mother at the same time" he praised me with gratitude. Um, ok. My eyes are widened for sure! What's he getting at? He crosses one leg over the other.
