Cheryl's POV (3 days earlier)
"John" I said.
"Cheryl, you can tell me anything and I won't hate you. I'll always love you."
I took a deep breath and exhaled sharply. My chest felt tight, kind of like when I feel minorly anxious. I was more scared about his reaction more than anything.
"I'm gay."
He stared at me for a good minute. I couldn't tell if he was just thinking or if he was mad. Then I saw a black limo pull up nearby.
"I can't even with you" he said without looking at me. He grabbed my wrist and held it painfully tight and dragged me to the limo.
Of course the car was all too familiar with me. He held me down as I struggled to move. I screamed and he tightened his fist and punched my forehead, knocking me out.

[Veronica 🔥]: nobody was supposed to find out. It got around quickly though.

[Kevin 🍵]: Toni, she's an emotionally fragile person. She's been broken so many times that while you're trying to fix one thing, another breaks

[Veronica 🔥]: well we're in class it's not like we can skip.
[Kevin 🍵]: its killing you as much as it's killing us but there's nothing we can do about it.
[Veronica 🔥]: Please stop crying Toni. Ms Alvarez is looking at you

Veronica's POV
Toni left for the bathroom and Kevin went to get water. So obviously I was going to go with them. I raised my hand and Ms Alvarez said "Yes?"
"Can I go to the bathroom?" I asked nicely.
"No. Toni is already in the bathroom. You can wait."
I saw Kevin and Toni waiting outside the door and then stood up. I packed my bag, swung it around my shoulder and said "Excuse me Ms Alvarez, but I'm currently bleeding from my god damn vagina so if you don't want me to stain your chair I think you should let me go. If you don't mind" I said with a smile.
A few people laughed and she gestured me to leave. I took my bag with me and followed Kevin and Toni outside and we started running to the river.
After a few minutes of running, Kevin started wheezing and we all stopped.
"Kev, are you okay?" asked Toni.
"Asthma" he said as he pulled an inhaler from his backpack.
I sighed and then said "Guys the river is about a 15 minute drive from here. Did you all not bring any vehicle to school?"
They both shook their heads and then Toni's phone buzzed. It was a text from John. Toni then read it out loud.
"It says I'll be her second Saint. But I'll be a real one unlike the first. What's that supposed to mean?" asked Toni.
It was most likely a cryptic message and as we speed-walked, we all thought about it. "Saints are necessarily a good thing but obviously John wasn't exactly planning on doing something good with Cheryl considering what Kevin heard him say" said Toni.
"Holy motherfucking shit" I mumbled.
"What? What is it?" asked Toni.
"Second Saint."
"Uh what the hell do you mean? You're just repeating what he said" said Toni.
"Nick. Saint. Clair" I said shakily.
"Oh my god" said Kevin.
"This can't be happening."
Kevin and I gave each other a look as Kevin said "but John will actually-"
