When I went to school the next morning, I felt horrible. I anxiously walked through the hallway, looking back making sure Heather wasn't lurking around a corner. I also had a burning hot fever but I did have a shit ton of hickeys all over me so I had to wear a hoodie.
Veronica stayed close to me before class started and we sat next to each other in the back of the room. She passed me a note reading: Is she in here? What does she look like?
I wrote small so that I could pass it back to her. I don't think she's here. She has light tan skin, dark brown hair, and green eyes
She looked at me and nodded, as if to say she'd be looking out for her today. I went to grab something from my locker and bumped into Toni.
"Sorry. Oh hey babe" she said as she kissed my cheek. I didn't really know what to say but I said 'hey' back to her.
"How was the party? Sorry I had to leave early, stupid Jughead made me" she said with a light chuckle. I didn't smile back, instead I said "It's okay. About the party, it was-"
"Heeeeey" said Veronica as she gave Toni a hug. "Sorry to cock block you TONY but I have to talk to Cheryl for a bit. Do ya mind?" asked Veronica.
"Yeah no problem. See you later babe?" she asked as she swung her bag over her shoulder. "Yeah" i said softly as Veronica and I walked in the opposite direction.
"Are you ever going to tell her? Cheryl not to put any pressure on you, but she's your girlfriend."
"I'm so tired of this. I can't get a break Ronnie" I sobbed. I couldn't wipe the tears off my face fast enough and said "Everything in my life just falls apart. I don't know where my mother is, my brother died, I can't go home because god knows where my mom is, she won't let me. I was almost raped by my ex boyfriend, and I just raped by my ex girlfriend. What do you want me to do Veronica" I sobbed loudly.
She looked at me with empathy and in shock. She let me continue.
"Of course I want to tell her, but I can't handle anything else because the last thing I need is something else tipping me over the edge, so god forbid that I die."
Veronica's eyes started tearing up and she pulled me in for a long hug. "I'm sorry" I said quietly in her ear. "It's okay Cheryl. You've been through so much, there's nothing to be sorry for."
I then saw Heather walk past. She was wearing a black bag with both straps across her shoulders. And Veronica and I looked at each other dead in the eyes when we both saw Toni walking with her.
"Hey babe. This is my friend Heather, she's that new kid" said Toni with a smile. Heather gave me a really passive aggressive look and Veronica gave me a gently nudge as us three had a bit of a stare down.
"I... I'm gonna go.." i said as I walked to the bathroom. Veronica started to follow me and Toni stopped her. "I'll go" she said.
I was sat on the floor on my phone and Toni walked in. "Baby, I think we need to talk. Are you okay? You've been acting weird since the party. Did something happen?" she asked as she looked me in the eyes.
"No" I said as i out my hands behind my back so i could anxiously fiddle with my fingers so she wouldn't see that i was anxious.
"Is it Heather babe? We're just friends. Plus, she's pretty cool if you get to know her" said Toni. "If it bothers you, I could stop talking to her."
"No, it's fine" I said quietly. She kissed my forehead and said "Cher, you're burning up. Are you sick?"
I shook my head. "Has it just been a bad few days. Do you want some space?" she asked.
"I just need to be alone for a while, that's all" I said as I held her hand. "But it's not you, it's just me babe. I promise" i said.
She smiled and then got up and left. And when she did, Heather was waiting outside the door.

I got out of the bathroom and Veronica and Kevin were outside. With my permission, Veronica had told Kevin everything and he hugged me and kissed my head which I was totally fine with.
"She's trying to get Toni to not trust me. To get close with her and then when I tell her, she's not gonna believe m-me" I said.
Kevin stroked my hair and I think one of the worst parts of this was that I couldn't talk to Toni about this. And eventually she'd see that I've been hiding hickeys for the past 2 days.
"We'll get you out of this Cheryl. You don't deserve anything else other than pure happiness" said Kevin.

When I went home, no one was home. But then there was a knock on the door. I came down from my room anxiously, the banging on the door getting louder and louder the closer I got.
