Third POV
Cheryl dropped and Kevin caught her and the crutches right when her mom walked into the room. He didn't mind Penelope at all and carried Cheryl away, running upstairs making Penelope think she was going to the nurse.
He sprinted across the 2nd floor hallway and went down the stairwell on the other side. He went out the main door and handed Cheryl her crutches and she got into the car crying.
"I love you Cher be safe. Bye Mrs Cooper" said Kevin. "I LOVE YOUR HANDBAG" he yelled as Alice drove away.
Betty hugged Cheryl and said "You'll be okay. We can lock the doors in the house if you want; and we can share a bed like we used to okay? Right mom?"
"Of course. Anything you need Cherie. Penelope needs to go-"
"Go rethink how dumb she is for not loving you" said Betty. Cheryl sighed and said "Mama C, why doesn't my mom love me?"
Alice sighed and said "It's really hard to hate you Cherie. But I don't think she hates you, I just think it's her not you. Now let's get you to the house for a nice hot chocolate and some chicken nuggets."
