I woke up, cold and sweaty, breathing heavily from the uncomfortably vivid dream I had just had. Cheryl was next to me sleeping peacefully, and holding my arm.
I took a sigh of relief, knowing that we were both okay and together. Strangely enough, Cheryl I guess also had a nightmare, and woke up with her face tinted red and gasping for air.
I held her in my arms and helped her calm down for a while.
"I left your meds on my nightstand with a glass of water" I said.
She picked up Milo and cuddled with him for a bit while I pulled out some leftover dinner from Pop's and turned on the tv. I heard my door creak open and turned around with a smile.
I got up and kissed Cheryl's cheek. She smiled and said "We're gonna be late for school Toni" as she played with my hair.
"Ha I know. Tell you what; how about we take this day off and spend some time with each other... if that's okay?"
She smiled and nodded as she sat down on the couch with me. "But maybe another time? I'm totally failing history babe" she said pleadingly.
"Yeah of course babygirl."
