It startled me and Yugi as we awoke to the sounds of screaming. I looked at Yugi who quickly rushed to the window carefully peeling back the window

"Oh...by the gods...." His voice was cold and robotic

I tapped on his shoulder to get a look it was awful

People were running from groups of Guards on horses as they galloped through the streets gathering and killing anyone they deemed. Yugi looked back at me Screams and cries filled the grey morning air.

"What are we going to do?" he whispered

We heard pounding on the doors next to us and cracking of thatch doors as people were dragged from their homes.

"We..cant leave my grandfather" Tears began to well up in his eyes

I couldn't take him crying, he was always so sensitive and loving it was one of his greatest traits

"I have an Idea quickly"

We quickly got dressed gathering some things around the house we had to leave for a day or so as the gathering would be over and we could resume our life I grabbed pots blankets and a small basket of food. Yugi's grandfather was very weak we left food and water near him and covered him carefully hiding him hoping they wouldn't bother with him at all.

We heard a loud crash as 5 soldiers came in

"We're back you little runt! this time were taking you to the pharaoh"

I clasped my hand over yugi quickly pulling him close to me his face began to blush

we heard them searching the small house I knew we had to make a run for it.

"Aha found you!" I heard one yell I grabbed yugi's Arm as we jumped out of the window into the mud

"Its...It's raining?" Yugis purple eyes grew wide I grabbed yugi again quickly running It was indeed strange we hadn't seen rain in years and for it to be pouring now of all times was terrible.

We panted against a wall as we heard the footsteps rush boldly ahead I peered over the corner to make sure it was clear to run again

"Yugi..lets..."

It was too late as I turned Yugi was being pulled up into a wooden cage by Soldiers He screamed out looking at me softly shaking his head assuring me not to try to fetch him. My hands clenched into fists before hitting the clay wall next to me. So many people were calling out for help in that tiny cage as yugi just stared at me until we no longer could see each other

Yugi was all I had, and he didn't deserve this.

I tried following the wagon carefully but the mud and death the littered the streets made it difficult. Soft cries of the injured and dying broke me to pieces this is why I had left on that fateful day. I knew I had to check on yugi's grandfather and gather more things to rescue him. I had to help him, he was the only thing that seemed to be normal in my life. I quickly darted around guards killing off the injured and torturing the others finding myself back to Yugi's place. The place was flipped upside down. everything was ruined my gut wrenched as I peered into the back room to see soft drips of blood soaking the floor I placed my hands over my mouth as I let out a soft cry. This wasn't right this was wrong, this was...

Memories began to fill my head of the day the New Pharaoh was crowned The Terror he striked on the people the moment he rose to the balcony no one got a good look at him all I remember was the dark mist that filled the air killing and thrashing people. I remember my mother shielded me as she got us home. She waiting for father but he never came back.

My mother awoke me frantically escorting me out of the window of our home she pleaded for me to run as a sword drove into her back I still remember how the air smelled as they burned and slaughtered everyone in my home. Blood and fire.

I grinded my teeth

Something had to be done.
