High Priest Seto's quivered under the dark ruby eyes that glared at him from the dim room

"so..." the pharaoh coiled his fingers to his lips "the legends are true...."

Seto nodded "we must please the god of chaos, something has stired him violen-"

Seto felt a firm grip around his throat as he was raised into the air

"Pl-Please my Pharaoh..."

"Are you implying I'm not in control here?" A deep and unnatural voice bellowed from the pharaohs gut "I am in control you incompetent fool!"

The pharaoh gripped harder around Seto's throat

"Plea- Atem..." The high priest squeezed out

The pharaohs eyes widened as he dropped the loyal priest his eyes stared at his shaking hands

"am I..."

"In control...?

"Eh-hem" the pharaoh straightened himself out "We shall throw a celebration...and give our dear god of Chaos a beautiful gift"

The pharaohs wicked laugh making the high priest and his disciples around trembled.

I carried fresh water from the reserves into the Pharaohs bath the pit in my stomach seemed grow. People were starving and dying outside these palace walls and here was the pharaoh filling his bath with fresh warm water. I shook my head what could I possibly do i slowly poured the water in thinking of that evening in the bath. How shameful it was. I felt myself slipping a moment deep in my thoughts before a firm hand on my shoulder took me back to reality.

"You've done well today...I'm Impressed" The pharaoh smirked sitting down beside me placing his feet in the warm pool.

"Oh Thank you.." I moved my hair behind my ear flattered I had in fact worked hard in his chambers hoping that would impact his mood he seemed at ease now, and less perplexed

I poured the last bit of water out

"Come and sit by me..enough work for now"

I nodded and sat beside him placing my hands on my knees I looked to the floor I didnt want to engage another moment with him.

I felt his eyes on me " You must forgive me..." he said guttural "It hasnt been known for someone to be so...challenging to me" he tightened his fists on his knee.

My eyes were now glued to him..was he complimenting me? apologizing? his presence was courteous like it was in the gardens making me uneasy. Yet..

"Come let me show you to your room..I'm sure you will be better suited having your own space"

The pharaoh walked in front of me his hands behind his back he truly looked like a pharaoh his presence was strong. I found myself blushing, there was something about him something so much more there and I wanted him to open up so badly I wanted to know him.

He brought me into the room I had once stayed before

"Thank you, I adore this room!" I said almost too excitedly rushing past the pharaoh placing my hands on the beautiful story engravings. the gold and deep blue tracing out the brilliance of whatever story they told

" Do you know this one?" he asked placing his hand on one of the inscriptions

I shook my head "No...I cant read" I traced my hand down the wall watching the story unfold

"you..cant read?!"he exclaimed "But why?"

I turned to the pharaoh my eye brow raised "because I'm just a servant women" I mocked before flashing a playful smile.

The Pharaoh grabbed my wrist hard removing it from the indentations on the wall I jumped from his sudden aggressiveness

"We..we..will change that" he said gently letting my wrist go "Tomorrow..."

I nodded rubbing my wrist "Tomorrow.."

His mind and heart hung heavy as he left her room he felt sweat pouring off his body as he slammed into a wall disoriented. He had to make it to the dungeons quickly

his breath and pace were deep and quickened as he clutched his chest trying to maintain control.

Yugi sat shuttering at each step he heard he no longer screamed for help his mind and body felt numb and dead to everything around him.

He had thought months ago he heard her voice calling out to him before being shut out. Silence had plagued him since. It had been a few weeks since he had the pharaoh as a visitor. He walked to the jail bars peering down the hall as awaiting his nightmare.

He wondered why the pharaoh hadn't killed him, why if these myths and legends were so important he had often heard the pharaoh talking to himself like there was something else there. One thing was for sure...he was the key to whatever was happening.

The pharaoh staggered up looking distressed and weak.

"Give.....me....you.......arm..." he reached his hand out

Yugi placed his arm through the bars shaking he had never seen the pharaoh in such a weak state. Yugi had been brutally tortured and beaten for weeks before and he was unsure of what to expect next.

the pharaoh bit into his arm hard Yugi winced as his flesh broke a soft purple light began to leave his body little streams of blood dripped to the ground. Yugi felt a slight dizziness before he collapsed on his knees. The pharaoh pulled away quickly and unnatural roar cried out before he and Yugi succumbed to fainting.
