I felt sweat beading from my forehead as I was escorted down a long corridor.

I used to hear brilliant stories of the Palace, it was a place that was constantly lively full of light. As a child I often watch from my window the music and laughter echoed through the streets of the city.

It almost seemed like that was a dream now.

The thick decorated stone seemed to be decaying and crumbling. I fought back the tears I needed to find Yugi, I needed to get him out of here...away from here. The guards tightened their grip on my arm as they turned down another long lonely hall.

We finally came to a worn wooden door

The room was bare only a single table occupied the entire space. The torches dimly lit the darkened space as they did through all the rooms I could tell this room was hardly used as the air was stagnant and uncomfortable they pushed me into one of the chairs. They shackled my wrists to the table and my ankles to the floor. I tried to remove them but it was of course.

I wasn't sure what I was about to endure. I only heard Rumors of the pharaohs cruel idea of justice. Many bodies floated down the nile before it dried hardly any survived a visit to the palace. People came back mad, and eventually killed themselves or flat out disappeared most likely feeding themselves to the Crocodile goddess.

My hands began to shake with anticipation what was this Wager what could that possibly entail? Would he actually free Yugi?

The Door opening made me jump as a small frail girl entered the room. Her hands were bound similar to mine I heard the chains rustle as she inched towards me she held an oak box in her hand worn with cryptic painted hieroglyphics painted on it.

"Hey! Miss!" I whispered to her as she set the box on the table

"Miss wait! Have you seen a boy who...resembles the Pharaoh?" I whispered louder hoping maybe she didn't hear me.

Her eyes were dull she acted much like the soldiers whom were outside the gates.

"Miss?" her gaze turned to me but she was looking passed me. Not at me I felt unnerved.

He mouth began to open into high pitched screams as her eyes widened The screaming was so loud I cupped my hands over my ears

Two soldiers came in to restain her tears like black tar dripping down her face

It wasn't until I got a good look at her face I noticed her tongue was completely cut out.

I squeezed my eyes shut and held my body trying to calm my nerves as she shrieks got quieter and quieter.

What the hell is this?! I felt fear, my hands clammy from the sweat I was scared. I had never seen such awful horrible things before. Though death in the streets was hard enough this...this was something far more malevolent.

My eyes flashed to the box she had left on the table, my hands reached out to touch it

*Slam*

I jumped nearly screaming as a hand came down on top of the box

"You weren't considering cheating were you?" The pharaohs vexatious face came into scene.

I shook my head

He rested his head on his chin

"Good"

He opened the box and began taking pieces out one by one

My eyes curiously gazed at the different pieces he took out

Little clay figures were lined up before me
