Love Is Not Enough [Complete]

Chapter Nine

We got in his car and he drove out of the parking lots.
I looked around the car and it was clean, smelled good as well.
Don't know why I did that but a clean guy is more of my type.
I get bored easily so I started humming a song since it was quiet.
You know, this guy makes me feel comfortable more easily. I feel like it wouldn't be too hard for us to click. But honestly a spark is missing between us, not that I want us to have a spark but anyway, I feel like myself around him.

"Connect your phone if you want", he said looking straight ahead.

I drew out my phone and started connecting. I went through my playlist looking for a perfect song to play.
And I got it. I played naked by Ella Mia. We both listened to it on repeat till we reach Shandon Estate.

"Is it okay if I drop you here?", he asked pulling over on the side of the road at the Estate main gates.

"Yeah, thanks a lot Sky", I said clicking pause on my phone.

"Hey, may I have your numbers?", he said shyly flashing me with a charming smile.
I blushed then held out my hand for his phone. He placed it on my hand and I started saving my numbers.
He probably thinks I'm too easy since I didn't play hard-to-get with my number.

Instead of getting out of the car and heading home, I decided to make a conversation.
"What do you do?", I adjusted my sitting position, now facing him.

"I'm in University of Mpumalanga", he smiled.
Crap. He's in the same University Bruno is.
"Plus I do the Forex Trade thingy", he added.
Oh so that's how he makes money. Okay.

"So where's your girlfriend?", I had to ask. Guys have a tendency of hiding the girlfriend fact then claim you didn't ask when you find out about it.

"I don't have one", he smiled and I saw honesty in his eyes. Or maybe he's just good with lying.

"Okay. It's just that I don't wanna wake up to calls and texts accusing me of being a boyfriend snatcher", I said.
My mind played back on the Bruno and Brenda's scene. Really I hate being in that space.

"Sounds like you've experienced that", he smiled focusing on me as if I'm about to tell a story.

"Oh no that's a subject for another day", I removed the car's safety belt.

"So? You have a boyfriend?", he asked.

"Depends on what your intentions are", I smiled making him blush.
I don't know why I'm flirting with this guy.
Maybe I feel like I deserve some kind of distraction from Bruno, I don't wanna mess up his relationship with Brenda.

"Oh wow. I guess you have no boyfriend",

"I don't know what I would have done If you didn't approach me at the Mall", I said.
"Thanks a lot for the ride", I added stepping out of the car.

"Call you later?", he asked. He then drove away after I nodded.
I smiled as I watched him drive away.
Maybe we will be friends, good friends I suppose.

"Where were you?", JR yelled as I walked in the house.

"None of your damn business", I replied walking past him.
He followed me to my room.

"Really? What do you want in my room now?", I asked getting irritated.

"Where were you Linda?", he asked sounding more serious.
I'm caught. Shit I'm caught.

"I was out at the Mall", I answered sounding like I was about to cry.
