I can't believe Mrs. Soo let us in so fast. She even offered to tell Jisoo where the hidden key was if we ever want to come inside without ringing her.

Jisoo declined, cheesily reasoning out that she would miss greeting the landlady.

"You always say that, but Rosé told me you don't eat my avocado cookies. Is that why you always leave without saying goodbye?"

Mrs. Soo wagged a finger at Jisoo, who was scratching her nape, looking sheepish.

"Ah! That's not it- we have to go...help um... Chaeng figure out what's wrong with her head- um. Yeah! See ya!"

Jisoo pushed me towards the stairs, and I only had time to wave goodbye to Mrs. Soo.

"Are we supposed to knock?"

I asked squeezing Jisoo's soft bicep. We were standing in front of the mahogany door again, more than ten seconds had passed.

Jisoo just stared at me.

Oh, fuck. We can't both be nerve-wracked.

"Chu."

I squeezed her arm harder. Jisoo blinked twice and laughed.

"Whoops! My bad, Jendeuk. Yeah, we knock..."

She put her arm over my shoulders and rapped on the door thrice.

"...And just go right in, if no one answers."

Jisoo twisted the doorknob and pushed the door open. She winked when I shot her a look.

We didn't even give anyone the time to answer!

The door swung wide open. Two figures were standing in front of Lisa's room.

I pinched Jisoo's shirt.

"No backing out now, Jendeukie."

Jisoo murmured against my ear.

I sighed.

"Yeah."

"I can't believe it. You held off far longer than we did, but ended up with more people."

Sorn studied my face, her own slowly splitting into a wide grin.

"I'm happy for you, Lisa."

I bit a huge chunk off from my apple, staring at nothing in particular.

Crunch, crunch.

"Don't be so nervous. You're crushing that apple."

Ten shoved me by the shoulder. I righted myself on my bedroom wall and studied the thing in my hand.

My thumb and forefinger left centimeter deep marks on the half-eaten fruit.

Oh. I didn't even notice.

I swallowed.

"Listen, I don't think leaving me alone with them is such a good idea."

Sorn and Ten watched me carefully then exchanged looks.

Sorn spoke first, crossing the room to stand in front of me.

"We talked about this. I am not listening in on a personal conversation. And at this point, it's highly doubtful that you'd survive not having them around."

"Even if you do mess up. We'll help you."

Ten added. He peeked his head out the door for a second before closing it again.
