Seven

[Warning: Emotional Gally in this chapter ^-^]

You wake up in the infirmary. It's late at night and your stomach won't stop growling. You look around the room until your eyes notice something- or someone I should say.

It's Gally. He's sitting in a small wooden chair near the head of the bed with his arm propped up on one if the little side tables. His head is leaning on his hand and he's fast asleep, softly snoring.

Your heart flutters at the sight. How long has he been sitting there? It must have been long, if he's asleep.

You lean over and shake him awake. "Gally," you whisper, your voice scratchy.

"What? Huh?" Gally says, snapping out of his deep sleep.

He notices you looking at him. "Oh thank god you're awake!" Gally exclaims grabbing your hand. When he realizes what he just did, he yanks his hand away, turning as red as a tomato.

You chuckle at his reaction and reach out for his hand, holding on to it firmly. "Of course I'm alright. Why would I be?"

Tears fill his eyes. "You were unconscious for three days."

You're eyes widen in shock. "Three days? What happened?"

"A slab of rock from the outside wall fell on you while we were working. Larry and I dragged it off of you, and you fell unconscious. There was so much blood." Tears stream down his face. "I thought you... that you... that you wouldn't make it. It's all my fault!"

You pull Gally in for a hug. "It's ok Gally. I'm fine. It's not your fault I wasn't paying attention."

Your stomach growls again, louder this time. Gally laughs.

"I guess I better go and see if we have any leftovers from dinner for ya," he says standing up to leave.

"Thanks," you say with a soft smile. Gally smiles back at you and leaves the room.

As soon as the door shuts behind him, you take the blanket off the bed and look at your new cast. You sigh. Guess you can cross Runner of the list for jobs. Unless...

You squirm trying to get your leg off the bed to try standing up.

"You slinthead! You know how much that's gonna hurt?"

You look over towards the voice and see Newt.

"Hey Newt," you say wiggling back to your original position.

"I thought Gally would never leave," Newt whines as he sits down in the chair that Gally had been in. "You know he sat with you the whole time you were out?"

"You're joking," you say. Or is he?

"He's definitely deeply in love with you."

You slap Newts arm. "Slim it Newt," you say blushing.

"No I'm serious. He REFUSED to leave you're side."

You're heart speed up at the thought.

Newt somehow sensed the change in mood. "You love him back, don't you?" he says grinning madly.

"No way."

"ADMIT IT! YOU LOVE HIM!" Newt yells.

You shake your head.

"Com'on Juno, if you tell me, I'll tell you a secret." He says wiggling his eyebrows.

This catches your attention.

"Ugh fine. Maybe... I have some feeling for him..." you mumble embarrassed.

"YES! I KNEW IT! I HAVE TO TELL CHUCK HE'LL BEE SO EXCITED!" Newt jumps up.

He's about to run out the door when you yell out, "Wait! What's your big secret? You promised!"

Newt groans and walks back to the chair.

"Promise not to tell anyone?" He asks blushing.

"I swear! Now spill!" you beg.

"Me and Thomas... we kissed yesterday." Newt whispers.

"What?!" You say, generally surprised. "I didn't know you two had feeling for each other! That's great!"

Newt smiles. "If you tell anyone, I'm throwing you into a pile of Klunk."

You mimic zipping your mouth closed, and Newt leaves the room.

Gally finally comes back with some burgers. He smiles at you and hands you one. "Eat up!" he says, biting into his burger.

As you eat, you can't help but think back to what Newt said about Gally. Could it he true? Could he have feelings about you? You thought you didn't feel anything towards him, but your heart says otherwise...

"Sorry if you didn't like it," Gally apologizes as the two of you finish eating. "I didn't know what you liked on your burgers."

"No it was great." You yawn, your eyes starting to droop. "I'm so tired," you whisper.

"You sleep. I'm going back to the sleeping area to get some good sleep myself. Goodnight greenie."

You close your eyes, pretending to be asleep. Gally, thinking you don't hear him whispers one last thing before he leaves.

"I love you, Juno."
