Almost the entire town was waiting for us. There were banners, posters, balloons, and streamers everywhere. When they saw us get out of the car they let out a huge cheer and our parents came running toward us. Soon I was squished between my mom and dad. They held onto me for a couple minutes then let go allowing other people to hug me.
Cole came up to me first, I grabbed his arm and pulled him into me hugging him and giving him a noogie.
"Not cool Kat." he says frowning and attempting to tame his hair. The next thing I know Chloe runs into me and starts squeezing me to death.
"Chloe...can't...breathe." I say in between gasps of air. She releases me and I gulp in precious oxygen. I can't believe how much she's grown.
"Woops. Sorry." she says giggling.
I see Mackenzie, Blake, Elizabeth, Aubrey, and Meredith out of the corner of my eye and start running toward them. They start running too and we meet halfway and get in a big group hug. They bombard me with questions about the tour and for the next hour we catch up.
All of a sudden we hear a big commotion and I look over and see Connor and Aaron fighting. Right now Connor was on top of Aaron punching him in the face. I gasp and run over to try to break up the fight.
"Connor stop it!" I yell at him. He ignores me and keeps beating the shit out of his brother. Aaron manages to flip their positions and is now on top of Connor punching him.
"Aaron stop!" Audrey yells at her boyfriend. He ignores her too.
"God dammit guys, knock it off!" I yell at the both of them. They just keep beating the shit out of each other.
"Stupid egotistical assholes." I mutter under my breath. I mean seriously. All guys do is fight and compare the size of their dick and the number of lays they've had.
I decide enough is enough and slap Aaron across the face. Yea, that didn't work out how I wanted it to. He just got angrier and took it out on Connor.
Apparently Seth saw what was going on and decided to help us. He grabbed Aaron by the back of his shirt and pushed him against a wall knocking him out. He then got Connor into a choke hold and didn't let go until Connor was blue in the face and passed out.
"I won." Seth said smirking and walking away. Everyone just stares at him in shock then rush over to Aaron and Connor. After about five minutes they had regained conciousness and were glaring at each other.
"Okay both of you are going to have to work out you're problems. Because I don't want a dead drummer and Audrey doesn't want a dead boyfriend. So grow up and talk." I demand glaring at the both of them. They had been arguing for too long and I was sick and tired of it. They were twins for pete's sake! They grumbled and walked away together. Hopefully to talk about whatever was between them.
Around nine o'clock our friends decide to go to a club that was right down the street to celebrate our return and the coming together of two brothers.
Yes, they did make up. I wanted to go home and freshen up and Alex wanted to do the same so we decided to meet everyone at the club. Everone was walking since it wasn't that far away.
I get home, take a shower, and change into a mini jean skirt and an off the shoulder black top. Grabbing my keys I walk out to my car and get in, driving to Alex's house to meet him. He was going to drive his car since mostly everyone will be drunk and unable to walk home.
I honk my horn and he runs out, hopping into his car and pulling up behind me. I turn up the radio and sing along while driving. It's about a fifteen minute drive to the club and I'm so excited. I'm not going to drink though since I'm the DD.
We pull up at a stop light at an intersection, Alex is still behind me. The light turns green and I ease onto the gas. Out of the corner of my eye I see a large pickup truck run the red light. And it is headed straight towards me!
But it's too late. He smashes into the driver's side of my car.
Oh god, pain, so much pain. I don't know where it's coming from. It's everywhere. It hurts so bad. Please just kill me now! Get it over with!
The car is flipping and finally stops right side up. I faintly hear the screeching of tires, people screaming, and frantic voices calling 911.
My door is ripped open and I turn my head slightly to see who it is. Alex. I'm never going to see him again. I can already feel the cold setting in. I know my time on Earth is almost up. Death is waiting for me.
"Kat! No! Please no! Don't leave me! God please don't leave me! I love you!" he cries out sobbing. Then there is only darkness.
Alex's POV
I'm sitting in my car waiting for the light to turn green and bobbing my head to the radio. I am so happy to be home.
The light turns green and in front of me, Kat starts driving. Then I see a large pickup truck barreling towards her. He had run a red light. Oh god he's going to hit her! I panic and slam on the brakes honking the horn.
But it's too late. He hit her and I watch in horror as he slams into the driver's side and the car starts to flip around and around. It comes to a stop right side up.
I open my door and run over to her car hoping and praying that she's alright. But I know she's not. No one would be able to get out of that crash alive, much less uninjured.
I get to her car and notice that the roof is caved in, the airbag failed to inflate, the windshield is shattered, and basically the entire car is totalled. I yank open the door and the first thing I see is blood. So much blood. I know exactly where it came from and I start to sob uncontrollably.
Looking at her I see that her entire head is covered in blood, her right arm and left leg are bent at unnatural angles, she has glass stuck in her arms, and a piece of metal from who knows where sticking out of her stomach.
Oh god. I can't live with her death. I can't do it. She is everything to me.
I see her slightly turn her head to look at me. Oh thank god! She's still awake!
"Kat! No! Please no! Don't leave me! God please don't leave me! I love you!" I yell sobbing as I watch her eyes slowly close.
In the distance I hear sirens. But all I can do is sit on the ground sobbing. The ambulance arrives and they pull her out of the car. I get up and walk over to them.
"Please save her." I beg them, tears still in my eyes. They load her into the back of the vehicle and without thinking I jump back there also.
"Hey get off!" an EMT yells at me.
"No! This is my girlfriend and I am not going to leave her!" I yell grabbing Kat's hand. I guess he heard the despair and desperation in my voice because he didn't argue with me.
They hook her up to a heart moniter and I am relieved to see that her heart is beating. It's weak, but she's still alive. EMTs surround her, forcing me to let go of her hand, and assess the damage. One starts spouting off medical terms that I don't understand while another records it onto a form.
I can finally see the hospital in the distance when I hear the worst sound of my life.
Kat was flat lining. Her heart gave up.
"Save her! Do something!" I yell at the two EMTs. I know I'm being harsh but I can't help it. The love of my life is currently dead.
They start to do CPR to try to get her heart beating again. We pull up to the hospital and doctors and nurses are already there. They start to continue the CPR. I run after them and pull up along side the gurney. I can tell she's still not responding.
They quickly run through some double doors and when I try to run after them, two male nurses grab my arms and hold me back.
"Let me go dammit! I have to go with them!" I yell struggling to get out of their hold and sobbing. After a minute I give up and slide down to the floor still sobbing.
Please save her. I can't live without her. I know she's not coming back though. The injuries were too severe and the fact that she died in the ambulance only helps to prove the truth.
