Today is Saturday and I have absolutely nothing to do. I know, lame right? Anyway I decide to read, I love reading. So for the next few hours I sit on my bean bag chair and read. I hear a knock on the door around one and my mom answers it. Then there are footsteps running up the stairs. Out of nowhere my bedroom door slams open and there stands Mackenzie, Blake, Audrey, Elizabeth, and Meredith.
"Get off your lazy ass right now! We are going shopping." Mackenzie says.
"No! I hate shopping and you guys know that." I groan.
"You are going whether you like it or not!" Elizabeth says.
"But I don't wanna!" I whine like a little kid.
That's when they all grab one of my limbs and drag me out the door. Mackenzie and Blake had my arms, Audrey and Elizabeth had my legs, and Meredith supported my back. I kick and scream the entire way out to Audrey's mini van. All of the screaming causes the neighbors to look at us like we're crazy. Which I guess you could say we are. They throw me onto a seat and buckle me in. I unbuckle and make a mad dash to the house, not willing to give up. Sadly Mackenzie and Blake were right there with duct tape. They grab my arms and wrap duct tape around my wrists, binding my hands together. I still don't give up, I kick their shins and run to the front door again. This time they pick me up and put me back in my seat re-buckling me in. So now you can see how much I hate shopping.
"You damn bitches! I will never forgive you!" I yell as Audrey pulls out of the driveway. We all know that I will eventually forgive them though. I can never stay mad at them long. "I don't even have my purse!" I say. Meredith holds my purse up after I say that. Well I guess I can't come up with anything else to make them bring me back home.
We pull into the parking lot at the mall and Elizabeth comes and unbuckles my seat belt. They don't take the duct tape off until we are safely in the mall. This earns us a lot of curious stares from the rest of the shoppers. We head into J.C.Penny first since that's where the rest of the girls want to go first. For the next hour I just follow them around sulking. After they successfully try on almost everything in the store, we head over to Belk.
"Kat you HAVE to try on this dress! It was made for you!" Audrey says. The girls had found a dress with a tight black top, the thick straps cross each other multiple times in the back. The bottom of the dress was royal blue and it stops at the knees in front but keeps flowing down to about mid-calf in the back. I do have to admit that it was a gorgeous dress and fit me to a tee.
"Oh I guess so." I finally cave. All of them scream and jump up and down in joy. I go to the dressing room and put the dress on. I turn and look in the mirror, it looked amazing on me! Right then and there I fell in love with the dress.
"Hurry up!" Blake yells at me. I step out of the dressing room and they all stare at me.
"You're getting that dress. Don't even try to argue." Meredith says.
"I was going to get it anyway. It will be great to wear to gigs with the band." I say. They again stare at me in shock. I very rarely ever get a skirt let alone a dress! We head over to check out and I see a familiar face walk in the store.
"Hey Connor!" I yell.
"Uh I'm not Connor. I'm his twin Aaron." he says awkwardly.
"Oh. I didn't know he had a twin." I say confused.
"Yea well we don't really get along." he answers. I then notice that he doesn't have a piercing like Connor does.
"Oh." I respond uncomfortably. The girls walk over noticing that I was talking to someone.
"Girls this is Aaron, Connor's twin." I introduce. I look over at them and notice that Audrey's eyes are wide open and glued to Aaron's eyes. I look over at Aaron and see that his eyes are glued to Audrey's eyes also.
Great just what I needed, a love sick friend. Now she's just going to be talking about Aaron constantly like Blake was with her boyfriend Brett when they first started dating.
A minute later we are still standing there with Audrey and Aaron staring at each other. I walk over to Audrey and scream "hey!" in her ear.
"Ahhhh what was that for?" she screams at me.
"Well you and lover boy here have been staring at each other for a couple minutes and it was making me physically ill just looking at you two." I answer.
"Whatever." she says walking over to Aaron and introducing herself. I'm impressed, she usually wouldn't do that being the shy one. I overhear Aaron ask Audrey on a date and her saying yes. She then turns back towards us with a mega-watt smile on her face. We walk back out of Belk with our purchases and decide to call it a day.
"You know Kat, when you get love-struck by a guy I will say I told you so." Audrey finally says to me.
"Yea, well that won't happen 'cause I won't get love-struck. Not even like-struck." I argue.
"Really? I think the latter has already happened." she said grinning.
"Yea with who?" I ask her.
"Alex." she said still grinning.
"Oh hell to the no! I can't stand that guy!" I yell.
"Exactly! You are always so indifferent but now he actually got under your skin!" she says happily.
"No. Absolutely not. I don't like Alex!" I keep arguing.
Just then we turn a corner and there he is. I just can't get away from him can I? Thankfully he's with the rest of the band so it won't be awkward. We walk towards them and when we get a few feet away they notice us.
"I thought you hated shopping?" Connor asks me.
"Yea I do. But they literally threw me in the car with my hands taped together and forced me to come here." I say motioning towards my friends.
"Wait so you're the girl who had her hands duct taped behind her back that everyone's been talking about?" Drew asked.
"The one and only!" I answer. The boys bust out laughing wiping tears from their eyes.
"So if you hate shopping then what's that you have in the bag?" Alex asks me.
"It's a really cool dress that I found. I'll probably wear it to gigs once we get some." I answer.
"Let me see it." Connor demands. I pull the dress out of the bag and hold it up.
"Damn Kat, that is like perfect for you." Drew says after a minute.
"Yea I know. That's why I got it." I say smartly.
"Hey don't make me tickle you again you smart ass!" Alex says. Everyone else just looks between me and Alex quizzically.
"No please don't!" I beg.
"Alright. But you better watch your back." Alex says with an evil grin.
"What the hell did he mean when he said "again" Kat?" Elizabeth asks.
"Uh I'll tell you in the car. Which reminds me that we have to go." I say waving bye to the boys.
We get in the car and I am instantly shot with questions.
"We were at his house last night writing songs. I fell off the edge of the bed and he comes over and starts tickling me. End of story." I say shortly. "Oh and he may or may not have tried to kiss me." I also say.
"WHAT?" they all scream at the same time.
"No big deal you guys. I leaned back and that's how I fell. Just drop it." I say indifferent.
"No big deal? No big deal! It is a big deal! Why didn't you tell us sooner?" Mackenzie says angrily.
"I didn't want to talk about it, that's why." I answer as we pull up to my house. I grab my purse and shopping bag jumping out of the car.
"Don't think this isn't over!" Mackenzie yells as I walk through the front door. I drop my bags on the floor and groan, thinking about all of the text messages I was going to get throughout the night.
