It has been six months since Kat got in an accident that put her in a coma. Six months without her.

Our band hasn't done anything. We haven't written any songs or performed. I mean what's the point when our lead singer is in a coma? The story of the accident made front page news everywhere. The entire world knows what happened. You have no idea how many letters from distraught and upset fans we have gotten.

Right now I am at the hospital for my daily visit to Kat. About two weeks after the accident the doctor deemed her able to survive without life support. But she still didn't wake up. So he said that maybe talking to her will help decrease the amount of time she is in a coma.

So that is what I have been doing every day for the last 6 months. Talking to her. Sometimes about everything, sometimes about absolutely nothing.

I walk into her room and sit down in the chair beside her bed.

"Hey babe. It's been miserable without you. Every day I walk in here and hope that you will wake up. You can see how that turned out. Everyone misses you. More importantly I miss you. Please just open your eyes. Or give me some sign that you can hear me. Anything." I tell her.

Nothing happens. I can't say I was surprised though. Nothing ever does happen.

So I just sit there and hold her hand. A few minutes later a small movement catches my eye.

I look over and examine Kat's face. Nothing.

There it is again. I look closer and realize that her eyes are moving behind her eyelids.

She's waking up. Oh my god she's waking up!

"Baby if you can hear me squeeze my hand." I demand.

I think I just felt a tiny squeeze.

Kat's POV

Darkness. It had surrounded me for who knows how long. Every once in a while I would hear voices. I wasn't sure if it was my imagination or if someone was talking in the outside world.

But lately I have started to hear these voices more clearly. I am finally able to tell that it's mostly Alex talking.

"Hey babe. It's been miserable without you. Every day I walk in here and hope that you will wake up. You can see how that turned out. Everyone misses you. More importantly I miss you. Please just open your eyes. Or give me some sign that you can hear me. Anything." I hear him tell me.

It breaks my heart hearing him sound so miserable. I wish there was some way that I could let him know that I'm fine and that I can hear him.

I glance around inside my head and everywhere I look there is darkness. But this time it felt like my actual eyeballs were moving.

"Baby if you can hear me squeeze my hand." I hear him say. He knows I hear him! He saw my eyes move!

I gather my strength to squeeze his hand. I think I squeezed it.

All of a sudden I feel like I am waking up from a long, peaceful sleep. My arm moves across the bed. My leg twitches.

I'm waking up. I will finally be able to live again and see Alex and my family and friends.

My eyelids start to flutter open. There is bright light. I close my eyes.

I groan and I think Alex realized that the light was hurting me because when I open my eyes again the light was dim.

I see a white ceiling. I turn my head and see Alex sitting down staring at me in amazement. I give him a small smile and he smiles back. He gets up and comes over to me and bends down.

"I love you." I hear him say right before he crushes his lips onto mine.

The heart monitor starts to beep uncontrollably and the doctor and nurses rush in right as me and Alex seperate.

The doctor and nurses immediately get to work, checking my vital signs and what not.

I look at Alex and he smiles at me. This is how I know everything will be alright.
