Chapter 12

Jisoo's POV

I went to the park for a stroll, to take a breather after the busy days.

Walking by the river, I admired the reflection of the moonlit sky decorated with stars. The park is absolutely peaceful, as of now. The wind blew, making me slightly shiver. I should've worn sweatpants instead of this pair of shorts.

Enjoying the quiet atmosphere, it was then broken when I heard electrical sounds. Looking at where the sound came from, I saw lightnings that surely didn't come from the sky, light beams appearing and fading away, and stems emerging from the ground.

Er... what is happening?

Being the curious girl that I have always been, I walked towards the scene to take a closer look. Jin and his brothers, fighting with 6 unfamiliar men.

The fight ended instantly, leaving me shocked. It took me a minute before I could grasp everything that had happened. Which results me to voicing my thoughts out, "Oh my good jams."

The boys turned their heads at my direction.

"W-what are you guys? What w-w-was that? Are you even humans?" I blurted out. To say that I was confused is an understatement. I was perplexed and shocked at the scene I just saw.

"Jisoo, calm down. We won't hurt you, we'll explaim to you, ok?" Seokjin managed to let out. He probably noticed the horror written on my face.

Just... what are they?

Hoseok's POV

Wow, just wow. Our father said that nobody should know that we're supers. Guess what, dad? We just disobeyed you! Hurray!

"Let me get this straight. You guys are from another realm called... Arcania, right?" Jisoo asked, wanting to confirm her facts. Jin hyung nodded.

"Why are you here, then? Aren't you guys supposed to be in your realm or whatnot?" She tilted her head, curious on why we're here.

"We're here for a mission, and I'm sorry, but I don't think it's a good idea to reveal our purpose here," Namjoon calmly replied, answering her last question.

"Alright. I think I'll let this one pass. Don't worry, you have my words. I will keep this a secret, after all, I might even appear crazy to some if I reveal this. Thank you for your brief explanation."

Jisoo grabbed her bag, or purse, whatever that thing is, and left.

Strange... she's unusually calm about these kind of situations. Then again, she has already seen the proof, and I don't see any problem with her taking this lightly.

The next day...
Jungkook's POV

Releasing a sigh, I remembered my brothers' words.

Do I really have powers? I mean, don't they appear before an Arcanian turns 15? Come to think of it, why was I the only who doesn't have his powers yet? Was there something wrong with me?

"Earth to Jungkook," Lisa clapped her hands, attempting to get me out of my trance.

"Is everything fine? You look baffled," she asked me, concern is written on her face. I nodded and gave her a small smile, assuring her that it's nothing too bothering.

The bell rang, gaining our attention. Five men are casually walking around the store, examining the shelves.

After a few minutes, they have finally gotten their items. Currently, they're walking towards us. One thing I had noticed was their glowing necklaces. And then, it hit me.

Namjoon hyung's speculations... what exactly are these necklaces?

I made an excuse to go outside. Surprisingly, Lisa bought it and let me out.

"Just come back quickly," she reminded me. I gave a curt nod and went out of the store, searching for those men.

"Who are you guys?" I said, making them turn their heads to me.

"What are you talking about?" The man sipping on his banana milk asked innocently.

First of all, nice choice of drink. Second of all, no. You sound like you're reading a book rather than acting.

"Don't pretend like you guys are good in acting. All of you are very suspicious a while ago. Why are you staring at her?" I snap back, impatiently waiting for an answer.

"What? Are you her boyfriend or something?" One of them retorted back.

"Or perhaps, you're an Arcanian?" He continued, obviously trying to make me reveal myself.

"Isn't it obvious?" Another man fired back. His hands are surrounded with fire.

Wait... he has the same power as hyung? But then again, there are some Arcanians who can do a fraction of what my hyungs can do. Chances are, his power is... blazing punch, I guess? Eh, whatever.

All of a sudden, I felt a dull pain in my head. The pain got worse, forcing me to kneel down.

C'mon, why now?

I didn't bother opening my eyes. I heard footsteps shuffling towards me.

But they never reached me though. I opened my eyes, and saw a wall made of earth, I presume, in front of me. (Just imagine a dark brown mountain-like structure that emerged from the ground, although it's only as tall as a person.)

The shield cracked, and not long after, it broke into multiple pieces.

Finally, after days of figuring out.

Since I still have no idea how to use my powers, I decided to settle for a hand to hand combat first, occasionally summoning the earth wall to defend me. A few moments later, our fight ended. Their necklaces glowed, and they vanished to thin air.

Ok, what was that? On the bright side, I got my power! Yippie! Imma buy some banana milk to celebrate!

I rushed inside the convenience store, and surely, Lisa is staring at me incredulously.

"What took you so long?" She took a bite off her biscuit, raising an eyebrow at me.

"Oh uhm... something happened on the road," I said in a stoic expression. Hopefully, she doesn't interrogate me further.

"Ok? Get back to work," she directed her attention on her phone.

I ran to the fridge, grabbing a banana milk. I drank it like there's no tomorrow after I reached the counter.

"You seem so happy."

"Ahh, it's nothing. Don't mind me," I flashed her a smile. Her cheeks became a little red. She averted her attention somewhere else. I wonder why she blushed.

Author's POV

"AYOOOOOO! THIS MUSIC IS BOPPPP!" Hoseok's loud voice resonated throughout the whole house as he was listening to the song his phone is currently playing.

"Bang Hoseok! If you don't shut up,  gonna drown you!" An annoyed Yoongi yelled, shutting Hoseok's loud mouth.

This, is another NORMAL night at Bangtan's household. Yay. R.I.P. Neighbors' ears.
