Author's POV
It was a nice, sunny day for Namjoon. His twin, Hoseok, will be absent for today due to him (Hoseok) feeling sick. Whistling a tune, Namjoon stopped when he saw Bambam in front of the fastfood chain, as if waiting for someone.
Namjoon walked upon him, and for a minute, they shared a friendly conversation.
Hoseok cleared his throat, trying to get rid of that itchy feeling. Feeling bored, he decided to go for a walk. Putting his jacket on, he went outside, ignoring his unwell feeling.
The fresh air made him feel better, at the same time, worse. I guess his jacket isn't enough to keep him warm. But on the bright side, his clogged nose got better.
His peaceful morning got kinda ruined when a small child bumped into him. The child looked terrified, which puzzled Hoseok.
Do I look terrifying?
The child bowed and apologized for her mistake. When she heard a footstep, she hastily hid herself behind the tall man.
"Hey, kid, why are you hiding behind me?" Hoseok asked as softly as possible, not wanting to scare the child even more. She pointed in front of them. A man walked towards them, smiling politely to Hoseok.
"Sir, may you please give me back my daughter?" The man politely asked. Hoseok looked at the child, observing her expression. He noticed that her expression was slightly more terrified than before.
"I'm sorry, sir. I don't think the child is yours," Hoseok came straight to the point. The child held onto Hoseok's hand, gripping it tightly.
"Excuse me? Who are you to make such a choice? Give her back, NOW," the man raised his voice a bit, making the child behind Hoseok flinch. Hoseok held the child's hand tightly, assuring her that everything would be fine. With a shaky voice, she spoke, "H-he's not m-my father."
"Alright, mate. How about you give that child to me now?" The man threatened once more. He put his right hand on the pocket of his jacket, waiting for the right time to grab something from it.
Hoseok secretly gave his phone to the child. The child looked at it questioningly.
Although he is still sick, he decided to take the man down. Who knows, maybe he's armed. His suspicion was once proved right. The man, indeed, is armed. The man grabbed the gun when he saw Hoseok move an inch. Luckily, Hoseok was fast enough to punch the man right on the face, and grabbed the gun from him.
"Call the police, child. There is a casualty here," he commanded, trying his best to sound as clear as possible.
The girl obeyed, dialling the poloce with his phone. Yes, he doesn't have a password. Hoseok threw the gun away, and delivered punches and kicks to the man. The perpetrator managed to dodge them, surprising Hoseok.
Wow, he can fight.
His body felt like it would collapse anytime soon, nonetheless, he continued the fight. Trying his best to focus, Hoseok felt relieved once he heard the police sirens. The sound distracted the man, giving Hoseok an opportunity to hold him down until the officers come.
The man got arrested. The officers asked both victims to come with them at the police station for further investigations.
After quite a while, Hoseok and the child stayed at the police station, waiting for the child's guardian to pick her up. Silence engulfed the both of them. Hoseok felt worse after forcing himself to fight.
Ugh, I went on a stroll to feel better, not to randomly catch an infamous kidnapper. But on the other hand, I'm kind of glad that I came. If not, what would've happened to the child?
"Uhm... mister?" A voice called upon Hoseok.
"Yeah?" Hoseok looked at her. The child hung her head low, "Thank you, and sorry for disturbing you. You look quite sick, and I think the incident earlier made you feel worse."
Hoseok's expression softened. Was it too obvious that he feels sick? Is it a bad thing that the child knew about what he's feeling?
He patted the girl's head, giving her a bright smile, "Don't worry too much about me."
Thus, they had a short conversation whe waiting.
A few minutes later, a lady appeared at the police station. Catching her breath, she rushed to the girl, giving her a tight hug.
"Thank... goodness, you're.... safe," the lady panted, releasing a deep sigh.
Oh, that's Momo. So Momo is this girl's aunt after all.
Momo looked at her niece's eyes, signalling her to narrate what happened later. She then turned to Hoseok, bowing to show gratitude.
"Thank you for your help, Hoseok."
"No problem. It's not a big deal."
"C-can I have your number? Maybe I can treat you next time. As a token of gratitude, of course."
"Sure."
Hoseok typed his phone number. His vision got a little blurry. He shook the feeling off, not wanting to worry someone else.
They bade farewell. Hoseok went to an empty place, feeling too weak to walk back to their house. Once he was able to make sure that no one is there, he teleported.
As he arrived at their home, he rushed to his room, change his clothes, got out of his room, and plopped himself to the sofa.
His stomach produced a faint growling sound. He texted his twin, asking him to bring fried chicken and noodles on his way home. After doing so, he scrolled through the channels, searching for an interesting movie.
A few minutes later...
"Woah, Thor has electric–lightning, whatever you call it, powers too? Cool! New fave character," Hoseok continued his movie marathon, occasionally talking to himself.
(Sorry, your authornim is an Avengers lover.)
"Yep, gotta search this up. This might be Kookie's new favorite movie.
A few hours later...
Namjoon, with noodles and fried chickens on both hands, heard loud explosions coming from their house. Being kind of paranoid, he kicked the door down. The doorknob broke as the door itself swung open.
"Uhm... what? Why did you kick the door down?" His twin furrowed his eyebrows. He examined the door from top to bottom, looking for any damages. Fortunately, the doorknob is the only thing broken.
"I thought you were being ambushed or something," Namjoon replied, regretting that he kicked the door down.
Namjoon looked at the tv, watching whatever Hoseok is watching. He decided to take a seat beside his brother, ams ignore the door.
Two minutes passed, and the rest had finally arrived. As expected, Namjoon got a lecture from the eldest, Seokjin.
