In my hands I held the most valuable memories that I had with Alexa. It is a big step for me to let go of these things but it's about time. It's about time that I move on and forget about her. I no longer need the pain and sadness, I just want this to end.

Jane had already started the fire on my backyard, she was already calling me but I needed one more minute with these things.

-

"You can throw them in the fire now." Jane said and I just nod. I grab the first few pictures and it was when I got her a polaroid.

(flashback)

I entered Alexa's apartment with a boquet of flowers and a present, I didn't know what to get her but I knew she was dying to get this.

"Babe I'm here!" I hollered.

"Hey!" she greeted me with a kiss.

"What is all this?" she asked.

"Aww. Happy Birthday!" I hugged her tightly andd gave her the flowers and the box.

"You didn't have too but ugh you're amazing!"

She quickly rushed to her kitchen and got a vase from her cupboard, placing the flowers in. She dragged me to the living room and forced me to sit on the couch.

"You should open that already." I told her and she didn't hesitate to rip off all the wrapping paper.

"OH MY GOD LUKE! OH MY FREAKING GOD! I LOVE YOU!" she hugged me really tightly and kissed my cheeks.

"I love you too." and I swear in that moment I really felt happy, the smile on her face was priceless and it felt amazing because I'm the reason behind it.

"Now, let's take some shameful selfies."  she chuckled.

(back to reality)

I threw them into the fire and even though it hurt a little, Jane was rubbing circles on my back and telling me it was the best thing to do.

A couple pictures more were thrown into the fire until I found another thing that held so many memories. A necklace.

(flashback)

We were on our way to my friends' beach house and I brought Alexa with me to keep me company. Because I knew that John was just gonna throw huge parties during our time there and I didn't want to just get wasted during the whole vacation.

When we arrived at the beach house it was incredible, it probably is worth a lot of money. Me and Alexa went straight to find our rooms.

"This place is really amazing!" you couldn't remove the amazement on Alexa's face.

"I know, I can't wait for that camp fire party." and she looked confused.

"What camp fire party?" she asked,

"Well, it's were we hang around a camp fire, dance around, drink and just have fun." I explained to her and she just nodded.

She opened her suitcase and retrieved a box and gave it to me.

"What's this for?" I asked.

"Open it up!" inside the box were two necklaces, one had the letter 'a' charm and the other one had 'l'.

"So if a girl tries on hit on you, she'll know to back off because you're wearing a necklace that has 'a' even though your name is Luke.

"Aww god. I love you so much." I hugged her tightly and she gave me a big smile. And that time I knew that I really meant those three lettered words.

(back to reality)

Knowing it was the best thing to do, I didn't regret throwing that necklace into the fire. Jane had her arm around my waist as we watched all my memories of me and Alexa fade and burn into flames.

We went back inside of my house (which was my mom's) and I could feel Jane's stares burn through my skin.

"What?" I raised my eyebrows at her.

"You do know you still have to delete all your pictures together on phone."

And so I pulled my phone out of my pocket and reformated my phone, at the same time saving all my contacts and messages.

"You happy now?" I asked.

"Just peachy." and she giggled.
