Truth be told I've been hanging out with a girl who is still a complete stranger to me than my friends. But it felt comfortable to be with her. She was like a sister I've never had.
But I've learned a few things about her. She lived in an orphanage for fifteen years until a French couple adopted her, she was brought to France and there she lived happily and finally she felt like she was loved.
Once she turned 18, she flew back here. She said although France was amazing, she still felt that New York City was her home. Her foster-parents were alright with that as long as she visited once in a while, and they even forced her not to get a job. She was given money every month to sustain her needs but she felt like she's being treated like a baby. She likes the feeling of being independent and slightly being supreme.
And that's a great thing to conclude that she's bossy, one day she asked me to buy a few things but I decided not to and well it didn't end up good. So my lesson there was always do what she says.
"Lucas I'm back!" she shouts and I hear the front door slam.
She had a lot of bags in hand and so I helped her carry them back to the kitchen.
"I feel like I'm your mom, I do everything here, just not your laundry." and she continued to stack the pile of food she bought into the cabinets.
"Well my mom is back at Australia, you should blame her." and she just slapped my arm.
I helped her get the things out of the bag and I noticed a red velvet box at the bottom and I pulled it out.
"What is this?" and she gave me a pout.
"You ruined the surprise Luke!" I handed her the box and she opened it for me to see something that made me smile.
"I knew that burning and deleting all your memories with Alexa hurt especially that necklace of yours and so I got this." In her hand she held a silver necklace and it had a penguin as a charm.
"Wait just a minute! How do you know I like penguins?" I gave her a skeptical look and she finally spoke.
"I might have or not sneaked in your room and boy those were a lot and you say penguins a lot in your sleep." and I didn't wanna embarrass myself any further and so I just hugged her. I placed a kiss on her forehead and rested my chin on top of hers.
"Gosh Jane, I don't know what I'll do without you."
"Well for all I know, you'd be some depressed heartbroken guy." she said as she leaned into my chest.
*ring* *ring*
"Well I have to take this." I told her and we broke apart from our position.
