"O Romeo, Romeo! wherefore art thou Romeo?

Deny thy father and refuse thy name;

Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love,

And I'll no longer be a Capulet"

I recited this lyrics as I leaned up against the bookcase. Loki was focused at his desk, not amused.

"Are you reading that MidGuardian jargon, again?" He spat.

Instead I continued reciting...

"'Tis but thy name that is my enemy;

Thou art thyself, though not a Montague.

What's Montague? It is nor hand, nor foot,

Nor arm, nor face, nor any other part

Belonging to a man. O, be some other name!

What's in a name? That which we call a rose

By any other name would smell as sweet;

So Romeo would, were he not Romeo call'd,

Retain that dear perfection which he owes

Without that title. Romeo, doff thy name,

And for that name which is no part of thee

Take all myself."

"Seriously, Tyra, MidGuardian literature holds no standard to Asguardian-"

I stopped him in his tracks, "This is considered a classic there. It's an old fashioned love story. Feuding families, the two are not supposed to love each other- however, they do just that."

"Tyra, I called you down here so I could inform you about something, not to hear you recite lyrics from a child's book."

"I'm trying to distract myself from the fact that Thor, your brother," I emphasized, "is not returning." He refused to look up at me. I continued to hold the book out in front of me. His eyebrows furrowed at the book he read and his eyes had turned cold. "My dear, what is it you wanted to inform me."

Closing his book, Loki leaned his elbows on the desk and placed his head in his hands. He didn't want to look at me. "I recently discovered some information, about my past... Have you ever noticed that Thor and I look nothing alike?"

"Not all siblings look alike-"

"We aren't related." Despite the emptiness silence holds, it filled the room in great amounts.

I observed him in silence as he tried to spit out his truth in anguish.

"My true name is Loki Laufeyson."

My jaw clenched and eyebrows furrowed to the shape of his. Approaching his desk, I placed my book down and stood in front of him. He wouldn't look up. "And how does this make you any different from Loki Odinson?"

"I'm a frost giant, Tyra." He shot up and walked aggressively in the other direction, boots stomping on the tile. "Don't you get it? I've been lied to my whole life-"

"Deny thy Father, Refuse thy name-"

He turned and looked at me finally, "Don't start with that, again-"

I spoke calmly and confidently, "What's in a name? That which we call a rose, By any other name would smell as sweet"

He closed his eyes, and muttered, "What is that even supposed to mean?"

"A rose, if called anything else, would still smell as sweet as a rose. Because the name doesn't define it- the smell defines it. You must deny your father, refuse your name. It's not you."  I stepped towards him, our bodies only inches away from each other. Reaching my hand out to touch his chest, he put his hand up to stop me.

"I don't want to hurt you."

Forcefully, I leaned my hand against his chest and whispered, "That which we call a rose, By any other name would smell as sweet."

He took a deep breath and calmed down his heart rate. "I have other news, Tyra. This is good news. I can finally give you what you deserve."

Removing my hand from his chest, I took a step back to give him space.

"I am King of Asgard."

I took another step back, looking anywhere but him. "That can't be, that was Thor's destiny-"

"Thor ruined his destiny!" He exclaimed. "This is my destiny! My father-" He corrected his words, "Odin, is in the Odinsleep, I am the only one worthy to rule. This is what you deserve, Tyra. Not a prince, a King."

"Then if you're king, you can bring your brother home."

Shaking his head, he replied, "No! I must honor Odin's orders. Thor is banished." He began to walk away from me. "Now if you excuse me, I have to go to my throne."

I stood there in silence as he walked away, before muttering, "Deny thy Father, Refuse thy name, Or, if thou wilt not..."

He stopped in his tracks. He had nothing more to say to me.

"Henceforth, I never will be yours."
