Closing the door to the weight room, I held my water bottle tightly as I strut down the halls to the lounge. Turning the corner, large amounts of noise emitted down the hall from the couches and bar. Before passing the balcony, I stopped behind the corner to listen in on the conversation.
"Man, she really is a work of art," a voice that seemed to be Clint stated.
Tony's voice spoke up, "Don't get your hopes up, Katniss. She even said no to me, and I'm Tony Stark." Lifting his drink up to his mouth, he sipped without taking his eyes off Clint.
Bruce pointed towards Tony without looking up, "Exactly why I didn't try."
"Ah, well, I'll let her know of all of your quarrels once I finish courting her," Thor put his hammer down and spot confidently towards the group.
Tony laughed and shook his head, "Courting? Good luck with that, she'll reject you on the spot."
"I'm a god-"
"Doing some spying, Maddy?" A voice boomed behind me.
I jumped at the sound and turned to see Steve there with his hands on his hips. "I could say the same for you."
He chuckled and pointed down to Thor, "So are you going to let him 'court' you?"
My eyes fell down to Thor as he waved around his hammer to show off, "I mean, I'd be lying if I said I didn't like him... maybe I'll mess with him a little bit."
"Of course."
"How far do you think he'll go?" I turn back to Steve and raised an eyebrow.
He lifted his hand and motioned towards the lounge, "Let's find out, shall we?"
I walked down the stairs with Steve towards the lounge and won the attention from the rest of the crew. Looking back, I sarcastically commented to Steve, "I'm flattered Cap, but you aren't exactly what I'm looking for." I saw Steve smile to himself as I turned back to the group. "Yes, boys?"
"We were just talking about you!" Clint said. "Weren't we, Thor?"
The god turned into a bumbling mess, not knowing where to put his hammer and redness flushing his face. He quickly regained his confidence and composed himself. "Lady Maddy, I've been meaning to ask you a question, if I could talk to you in private-"
"You can ask right here," I interrupted.
He giggled nervously to himself. "Well, uh, would you like to engage in what you midguardians refer to as 'dating'?"
I walked towards the window slowly and mumbled, "But are you what I'm looking for?"
I turned my head around and lustfully looked back at him, "I need a hero."
Tony moved his head down and laughed to himself, immediately seeing through my jokes.
"A hero? M'lady, I am the definition of-"
"He's gotta be strong, fast," I paced the room calmly, "fresh from the fight.... larger than life..."
Thor laughed and motioned towards himself, "I am all those things-"
"Where did all the good guys go? The gods? Hercules? I want my knight on a steed, my fantasy, thunder, lightning, superman..."
Thor finally got a hold of me and I paused, "Lady Maddy, I am a hero by your description."
