I listened to the echoes of arguing in the other room. Finally, Uncle Steve emerged from the room, seeming incredibly frustrated.

"Uncle Steve, is something wrong?" I asked as he stopped himself.

He turned towards me a sighed, "I don't think the Avengers are going to be together for a while."

Shifting my seat, I furrowed my eyebrows at him. "Is my dad being an ass?"

"If you don't mind me saying, yes, he is. His mind is in the wrong place right now after the Sokovia incident..."

He trailed off, not sure of what else to say. I quickly added, "I'm on your side, Uncle Steve."

Looking at me in all seriousness, he said, "I don't want you in this fight. I don't want you getting involved. That's at least something Tony and I can agree on."

"You're going away for a while, aren't you?" I asked in despair.

He pursed his lips and breathed in deep. "I'm sorry, kid."

Before he could say anything else, I jumped into his arms. He pulled me tight before the door opened again, revealing my dad.

"Jenny, go to your room," he bellowed.

I let go of Uncle Steve and pouted back to my room.

This is tearing my family apart.

--

"I want to stop this, Dad! I want to help-"

"You are staying in your room until we get back," my Dad said, pushing me towards my bedroom. "I can't let you get involve. It's not safe and you have too much of a connection to Rogers."

After getting me in far enough, he closed the door and initiated lockdown mode. I was trapped in my room for the next week. "Seriously, Dad?"

He disappeared, leaving me in only the hum of the AC. "Alright, I'll give you a 10 minute head start. Then I'm breaking out of this joint."

--

My suit whistled through the air as I approached the airport. Uncle Steve and my Dad were face to face, having another argument. Great, I thought to myself.

I landed on a high outpost and watched as the fight began. They all didn't seem to care that they were hurting one another.

It hurt my heart physically to watch. I reengaged my helmet and let my suit take me to the air.

I quickly landed in the middle of the battle ground, causing my Dad to scream, "Woah, woah, everybody stop!"

Everyone came to a screeching halt as they noticed my presence. I disengaged my helmet, revealing my identity.

"Jenny! I told you to stay in your room-"

Uncle Steve slightly laughed at my arrival, "Well, she is definitely related to you, Tony."

He didn't laugh at Cap's joke, receiving an awkward silence from the broken team.

"I'm so sick and tired of blood in the water," I stated. "Words turned into explosions, and we're hurting one another. How did we forget our family?"

Uncle Steve kneeled to the ground, listening intently to what I had to say, whilest my Dad continued to scowl.

"Why can't we all just get along? Do we really wanna be here 10 years later singing the same sad song? If we all just talk, this battlefield will be diminished to family. There's got to be common ground."

My dad's scowl disappeared. He seemed emotionless, as if he didn't know how to react to my statements.

"It doesn't have to take our last breath to admit that we're wrong. Seriously, though, why can't we all just get along?" I dissengaged my repulsers and let them fall to the ground. "I'll be the first one to lay down my guns. I'll be waiting right here if anyone wants to join me."

No one budged. Uncle Steve glanced at my Dad as if he was attempting to see if either would take a step forward.

Suddenly, an arrow shot through the sky and punctured my wrist. I looked up to see Uncle Barton perched in the airport.

"Barton, I told you, stand down!" Uncle Steve cried.

I fell to the ground in agony. My wrist dripped fresh blood onto the landing strip.

My dad quickly spoke, "Alright, that's it. Parker, take Jenny to a shield medic as quick as you can and come back."

Before I knew it, I was swept up into the arms of Spiderman.

He let me down at the entrance to the shield base. "I thought what you said back there was really great," he complimented.

"Thanks. It doesn't change anything, though." I held my wrist out. Peter webbed it to keep it closed, however the arrow still protruded. "My family isn't a family anymore. I don't know what to do, even my dad won't listen. At this point, I don't even know if he's my family after all this either..."

"I'll be your family," he quickly responded.

I smiled at his comment, "Thank you... why can't they all just get along?"
