"I don't know, Steve," I said to the super soldier quietly as we picked up our drinks.
"Look," he stated. "I talked to the myth himself and he really does like you. All that confidence fell very quickly because you can be... intimidating, sometimes."
I laughed at his comment. "A god? Intimidated? By me?" Shoving his arm lightly, I added, "Funny joke, Steve."
Before we joined the group, he stopped and whispered, "He's also hesitant because you're from Earth...except, with your abilities, I still don't think you are."
Taking a sip from my beer bottle, I shook my head at him. "Look, I've explained this before, Steve. I don't know where I'm from. For all I know, I'm from outer space. But until I have proof of that, I am just a simple girl from Tennessee."
"But it's a trick," Clint stated as we walked directly into the conversation, twirling a drum stick around his hand..
Thor shook his head in amusement. "Oh, no. It's much more than that."
Steve and I slid by the others to join Thor on the couch. As we approached, he motioned me to go first, smirking as it would mean I'm next to Thor. Sitting down with enough space, as soon as Steve sat down, I slid into the crevice and found myself smushed between two incredibly muscular guys. A blessing or a curse?
"Uh," Clint mocked. "Whosoever be he worth shall haveth the power! Whatever man! It's a trick."
Motioning to the hammer, "Well please, be my guest," Thor smirked, knowing no one would even come close.
Tony spat at Clint, "Come on."
"Really?" Clint asked in curiosity, feeling confident.
"Yeah!" Thor exclaimed with pure confidence.
Rhodey laughed, "Oh this is gonna be beautiful."
Clint got up and approached the all-mighty hammer set on the coffee table.
Tony felt the need to add, "Clint, you've have a tough week, we won't hold it against you if you can't get it up."
Laughing at Tony's comment, I shook my head at the situation. Turning my head to Thor, he leaned in and whispered while chuckling, "He won't be able to-"
Clint, with pure confidence, stated, "You know I've seen this before, right?" He quickly grasped it and lifted as hard as he could. Grunting along with it, I broke out in a small laughter as the room remained silent. Clint giggled, "I still don't know how you do it."
Thor nodded in agreement.
"Smell the silent judgement?" Tony added.
"Please, Stark," Clint lifted his arm, inviting Tony to try. "By all means."
I shook my head as the rest of the crew chirped at the invitation.
Tony got up and approached the hammer. "Never one to shrink from an honest challenge." He grabbed the handle and egoistically stated, "It's physics." Before he began lifting, he turned to Thor, and asked, "Right, so, if I lift it, then I get to rule Asgard?
"Yes, of course," Thor said without a doubt.
I turned to Steve who was leaning forward on the edge of his seat, prepared to watch Tony fail. I giggled, "Tony ruling a kingdom does not sound like a good idea."
Tony continued, "I will be re-instituting Prima Nocta-" he grunted as he attempted to lift the object. After one more try, he removed the strap and stepped away, saying, "I'll be right back."
"This'll be good," I said to Steve as he smiled at me. He leaned slightly to my side, pushing me into Thor's side in effect.
Eventually Tony returned with his Iron Man repuslser on his arm. He grasped the handle and attempted to lift. Looking up at us, he changed angles and attempted to lift again, except it did not budge.
