The team scattered the room, discussing our current situation. Rhodey started, "It's been 23 days since Thanos came to Earth."
I couldn't listen. All I could think about was Loki. Was he really gone forever?
Tony spoke up towards Thor, "What's wrong with him?
Rocket responded for Thor when he refused to look up, "Oh, he's pissed. He thinks he failed. Which of course he did, but you know there's a lot of that's going around, ain't there?"
"Honestly, until this exact second, I thought you were a Build-A-Bear."
"Maybe I am."
"And what's wrong with her?" he asked, motioning towards me.
I didn't respond. For the first time since the battle, Thor spoke up. "My brother was killed by Thanos."
"In the snap?" Tony asked.
Thor crushed his fingers in a fist and winced. "Choked to death."
I took a breathe quickly at his words. I watched the God of Mischief fall to his knees. He tried to save us. Thanos was the only one he couldn't get his tricks by.
"Do we think it was another trick? That he could be alive?" Steve asked, always attempting to bring about hope.
I choked out, "If it was a trick, I would've known by now. He wouldn't have left me like this."
Blanking out of the conversation again, I blinked my eyes shut, attempting to remember every bit of him I could. Slick hair, chisled face, green eyes... or were they blue? Why was the memory fading already?
Looking at Thor, I shook my head to stop the tears. They didn't look alike, of course, they were adopted. Why did his face remind me of Loki's?
I shut my eyes tight again, remembering the last goodbye Loki and I shared.

"Loki, we're the only Asgardians left.... what if something happens-"
"Shh," he placed a finger over my lips. "Nothing's going to happen, darling. Everything will be just fine. Asgard is a people, not a place, or whatever my brother dragged on about."
I held onto his shoulders, staring into his eyes. "Asgard, the place, doesn't exist anymore. We don't know what's going to happen."
A sudden force shook the ship. "I must go talk to my brother," he said. I nodded at his statement as he walked to the window.
The force struck again, paralyzing me to the ground. Fire burst around me as Asgardians screamed in terror. "Loki!" I cried, hoping he'd save me. Stuck to the ground, I closed my eyes, praying to Odin for mercy

My eyes fluttered open as a character walked throughout the dead Asgardians. How was I not dead?
Lina, I am here, echoed in my thoughts.
Loki?
Something did happen. We aren't safe. I need you to stay where you are.
