CHAPTER VIII

"The boss cannot hold liquor."

I feel annoyed more. "Then he shouldn't be drinking if he cannot hold liquor." Damn it. Its my first kiss.

I walk with Mint until the elevator and we meet up again at the ninth floor. The boss was absent for a day but Mint said he's there at the office already.

Well, if I keep a grudge on him regarding that he'll reveal my secret to the men. And its not like I'm too girly to keep blabbering over that. Even my friends could kiss me if I want to.

The boss was sitting on the desk reading some papers when we arrived. He looks at me and smiles mischievously. Im planning to remain unconcern about what happen if only he plans to do the same too.

"There you go Blythe, your lips was the softest lips I've ever taste off.." he said.

I march forward to his desk.

"For heaven's sake boss, do you have to say that out loud?!" I frown.

He stood up and lean over attempting to hold my face but I move away, straightening my dark blue checkered vest.

"I feel like doing it again.." he whispered.

I think I blush as he said that with deep erotic voice. I turn around and head on the kitchen, starting my works. I've gone to groceries and wipe the windows too.

When all is done and I headed to the entertainment area with my notebooks, but before I could come in the boss ordered me to do my stuff on the sofa.

"Why will I do that?" I asked.

"Because I said so!" he answered.

This man, he's starting to pissed me off again.

I did as he has said and made sure to stomp a foot in defiance. I engage myself to my lecture in a while but I can't seem to concentrate when he's right there watching me.

"What?" I asked.

He smirk. "I told you last time you look familiar."

"As you can see boss, we live on the same town, we could have seen each other on a mall, on the market or any place.."

"I don't go to the market, and if Im going to the mall, I will rent it after the operating time."

Man, he's too proud isn't he.

"Have you been to the countryside before?" he asked.

I think first before answering. "I'd been once, last year..."

Bliss and I were invited to come visit a Family member living on the countryside last year. Its a fun experience, we enjoy the beach and the country food.

"Last year.. had you been to the countryside before that?"

"Hmm.. I can't remember boss, I have some few memory lapses." Its been eleven years and yet I myself was shock to know that there are some of my memories I cannot recall yet. "I've sustain some memory trauma from watching my..." I stopped myself.

"Watching Hendrick and some of your men murdered?"

I look away. "Yes.."

He did not indulge more and beside I did not want to talk any of my personal matters to strangers.

"I meet a girl when I was eight." he began. "Im having bad dreams until now because she's my first kiss and she's the one who took advantage of me"

I laugh. "That's a long time keeping that grudge boss."

But then my mind drifted to a memory that just surfaces. I was five at that time, Gregory insisted that we take a vacation on the countryside with hot springs. There was a boy I met on the spring one night. We were alone naked. There's nothing wrong with two kids naked at that age anyway. And I...

Oh heavens..

The boss lighted a cigarette as he resume reading on papers while I freeze on the sofa because I remember something that could kill me if he finds out.

The boy, he was the most handsome creature I've ever known. Next to this boss now actually. But as I think of it, he has the same deep black blue hair and gray eyes and because I can;t handle too much cuteness when I was young, I.. yes, that was right, I kissed him. Over the face and lips. Man, I was so embarrass just to remember my foolishness back then. And then the boy shoved me away on the water. I guess I ran after him after that.. oh, I force myself to remember what happen next but there's nothing. Only the image of his back turn away from me.

"Hey little doll.." boss said.

He was standing in front of me and I didn't notice him came close.

"You're flushing."

I picked up my notebooks and head on the entertainment area. Is the boss and that boy on the hot spring the same? Oh my, if he ever knew I was that girl... "she's the one who took advantage of me"

Oh gods! Im too young to leave this earth. I clenched my fist hard and swear to the life of my brother that I will never tell anyone about that horrifying night, I will take it to my grave!

That Sunday morning I spend my free time cleaning the house, preparing a small feast for myself and then taking the whole afternoon lying on my bed.

Ha! This is life! I stretch and yawn over, rolling myself between the sheet. I deserved a day off after the things that happen the past weeks.

I've earned a hundred dollars this month. I need to pay the house's tax, deposit money on my brother's account, groceries to sustain me for another month, miscellaneous fees on the school. I sigh heavily. No matter how much I tighten my belt, the money Im earning can't even reach my savings.

I put back everything on the side drawer when I heard the doorbell. Who can be visiting me today?

When I open the door, I saw the boys from the Ligneri-Blanc Family standing on the gate.

"Hey there kid!"

"Boys, what brings you here?" I asked.

"Isn't it obvious, we're visiting you." answered Bruce and they burst out laughing.

I let them in and ruin my afternoon Im looking forward to spend on the dream land.
