THE HANDSOME DOLL

CHAPTER XX

That night, irritated as I am, I've gone home alone without having a word with the boss.

Its not even ten minutes when my phone vibrates, with him angrily shouting at the line. "Where the hell are you? Did I ever gave you permission to leave?!"

"And when did I need your permission boss?! My office hours are up.." I said and click the end call button.

He calls again. "I'll pick you up so sit your ass elsewhere and don't budge an inch!!" he hang up.

Damn it. What am I a dog?

I walk past to the park, this route is not visible to persons driving on a car. As if I'd let him pick me up like I'm a lost child.

When I'm few blocks away from his place, I saw him outside, leaning on his Porsche and smoking. He threw me an angry look the moment our eyes met.

"I told you I'll pick..."

I sigh heavily. "Its okay boss, Im here already."

I head to the refrigerator and serve myself a cold water. He's watching me intently as he loosen up his tie.

"What?" I ask.

"Aren't you saying anything to me?"

I thought about what is it that I will say to him and I'm reminded of the sharp stabbing pain at my chest remembering how that girl cling on him while sitting on his lap.

"About the girl, earlier?" I said.

He raise an eyebrow and I find myself hoping he'll have the guts to explain that incident to me but its like Im the one being interrogated.

I shook my head, gulping the water and standing up. "I told you, this is just an arrange stuff, you can do whatever hell you want.." But deep inside I want get angry at him.

I was about to head upstairs to take a bath when he spoke.

"You... you think you can just run away from me after you get your house back? Im sorry Blythe I have no intention of letting that happen.."

That was exactly the very least thing I want to hear but instead of arguing, I grit my teeth in anger. "Do the hell you want, boss."

A part of me was just afraid. Afraid to admit that Im starting to feel weird feelings for him.

The next morning, to my heart's gladness, I receive a voice message from Mr. Jayden inviting to me dinner tonight.

Im really looking forward to seeing him again after all this time. He's like a big brother to Bliss and me. But, seeing him comes with a terrible problem. He'll be expecting me to wear a dress.

Damn that! I almost forgot about it.

Mr. Jayden couldn't tell the difference between me and Bliss. He will call me Bliss and he will call Bliss Blythe if we are wearing the same thing and its Bliss he always remembers.

I fetch a dress at the house before going to school.

When I arrive at the office later that afternoon, I've learned that the boss is having dinner with his parents and girlfriend tonight. Maybe about their coming engagement.

I felt myself feeling all weird again. My heart's beating like crazy but it hurts every time it thumps on my chest. I head to the gym and did some punching and lifting, trying to shake the feeling away.

He sure gets tired easily. I wonder how long will it be before he dumps me.

When I walk to the office after my chores I find the office empty, all the the boys at the entertainment area and he hasn't arrive yet.
