As we made our way back to the car, Alice and I were getting our ears chewed off by Jake who was explaining the movie to us. He had read the series at least a hundred times, he assures us, and he couldn't help but point out all the differences that were in the movie.
After the seventh comparison, Alice turned around and yelled at him. Guess she couldn't take it anymore. I was glad she was the bad guy and not me.
"Jake! That's enough. We saw the movie ok, we know what happened. It's good to know you're thoughts but honestly you're tipping me over the edge with this one! God, no wonder you have no friends. You'd annoy them to death in the first 10 minutes" she shouted and then her hand flew to her mouth as she realised what she had said.
"Well, sorry!" he shouted and ran over to the car sulking.
"Jake! I'm sorry, I didn't mean it!" she shouted and started after him. I got a hold of her forearm and held her to her spot.
"I'll go talk to him"
"No, I need to Oliver. He's my brother" she snapped and threw away my hand. I stood there, slightly taken aback at the sting in her words. I watched as she talked to Jake over by the car and how he pushed her away. From what I could gather, they didn't fight very much.
I felt as if I was imposing and glanced around me; taking in my surroundings. From what I could gather, it was a fifteen minute walk home. I turned around from the scene out breaking before me and headed down the road. I glanced at my phone and saw that it was 10:00. I guess I was in for a late night walk.
When I got home, I threw my things at the wall and stalked off into my room. I was annoyed with Alice but I didn't think I would get this angry. After I was changed into something to sleep in, I went out into the kitchen and got a drink of water. I splashed my face a few times to try and wash away my anger but I was still annoyed. I went over to my phone to find a crack down the right hand side of the screen.
"Well that's just fantastic" I muttered to myself and lit the screen up. I saw I had four missed calls and seven text messages. I opened them and saw they were all the same just different wording from Alice. I disregarded her pleading and carried my phone back to my room. I placed it on the bedside table before I slid into bed. I was unnaturally sleepy.
As my eyes drifted closed, I heard knocking at the door. I ignored it for a while until I wondered how someone would be at my door. The apartment worked on an intercom system. "Must be a neighbour" I muttered to myself as I dragged myself to the door. I looked through the peephole and saw a lady I had recognised from around the building.
I opened the door and gave her the best smile I could for my state of fatigue. Believe me, I couldn't muster much.
"Evening. Is there something wrong?" I asked as politely as I could. She looked grumpy and had her arms folded. Her grey hair was pulled up into a tight bun and her glasses were circling her eyes. She looked pissed to say the least.
"Yes. There is a lovely lady out here who has been worried sick about you!" she said frustrated. I looked at her as if she was crazy.
"Look, ma'am, I really appreciate you worrying about me and such but I don't honestly know what you are talking about"
