A week had passed and I hadn't heard from Carlos directly. I had received a text from a different number telling me the funeral would be in a week. I told

While I was being fitted for my suit by an old man who was balding, I looked at Alice who was on the phone to Lucy. She was explaining what we were doing. From what I could gather, we were meeting up with them for lunch.

The old guy finally finished up and gave me a receipt. I gave him a contact number and he said he would ring when the suit was done. Alice paid and we headed out. I hadn't been in much of a happy mood and Alice was trying to help but knew there wasn't much to do.

We walked out of the store and I tried to lighten my mood for her. I knew she was pretty stressed from her exams that were coming up.

"Hey, Lucy and Todd are meeting us in the food court" Alice said as we got in the lift.

"Ok" I said and gave her a smile. "Sorry I've been so glum"

"What are you apologising for? Your mum just died. If anything you're too happy"

"Right. I just don't want to be a downer for you"

"It's fine" she said and looked up at me with a smile. I leant down and gave her a kiss and smiled. We hadn't kissed much lately because of my bad mood and I realised how much I missed her kisses.

"I've missed your kisses" she said as if she was reading my mind from a script.

"Me too" I said and smiled at her.

After lunch with Todd and Lucy, Alice and I headed home early. We told them we were both tired and would call it a day.

"Aw, you guys are no fun" Lucy pouted.

"I'll see you on Monday Luce" Alice said and exchanged a hug with both of them. I gave Lucy a hug and shook Todd's hand. He was a cool guy. Alice was right; he was totally head over heels for Lucy. He couldn't keep his eyes off her the whole time.

Back at the apartment, Alice walked into the room and changed into my t-shirt and tracksuit pants. She seemed to wear my shirts more than her own. I laughed at her and plonked onto the couch. Alice came and sat next to me and snuggled up to me. I put my arm around her and rubbed her arm. We didn't say anything but it was ok. The silence wasn't awkward.

"Are you going to say something at the funeral?"

"I don't think so" I said truthfully. It had come across my mind but I didn't even think that anyone would even be there besides me and Carlos. She was an only child so I didn't have any cousins or uncles and aunties.

"Well, maybe think about it" Alice said and looked up at me. I looked down at her and thought how lucky I was to have girl who cared so much about things that barely even concerned her. I felt a wave of love overcome me and I pressed my lips to hers. She was shocked at first but reacted quick enough. She turned to me and put her hands around my neck. I laid her down on the couch and continued.

"I love you so much" I said to her and caressed her cheek softly.

"I love you too" she said and placed her hand over mine. I returned my lips to her exposed neck and trailed kisses up her neck to her jaw line. She pulled my face back to hers and kissed me passionately. She lifted my shirt off my head and I did the same for her. I admired her and stroked her cheek softly.

"What did I do to deserve you?" I asked as she looked up at me with a smile.

"What are you talking about Oliver?"
