First Words

Annabeth's POV

I held my precious Charlie in the air, poking his belly button and making him smile. Silena slept upstairs with the other kids, but for some reason Charlie just wouldn't fall asleep with his sister in the room. Babies are weird that way.

Charlie had begun to grow in fuzzy blonde hair like me, but his eyes resembled Percy's. It seemed like our two twins had a perfect mix of Percy and I's features. I wonder if we decided to have another child what it would look like. I spooned another mixture of mushed bananas into Charlie's mouth, which was his favorite. Unfortunately, causing trouble was another one of Charlie's favorite things, and causing trouble is a bigger priority than eating mushy bananas.

When I tried to put the spoon in his mouth, Charlie flipped it out of my hand and smashed it into my face, getting baby food all over. I suppose Charlie is a bit more like Percy in that sense,because I would never have made a mess like this.

I heard someone open the door and walk toward the kitchen, where I was. I franticly searched for a towel, but found none. I hoped more then ever that it wasn't Leo, or I would never hear the end of it.

Some people use bananas for facials, Leo would say. But Annabeth really takes her skin care to the next level.

"Hey Annabe-" I turned around, stopping Percy mid sentence. He stared at me for a solid minute, not moving.

"It was Charlie." I blurted out. Percy blinked twice, then burst into laughter, clutching his stomach. Still laughing, he took his shirt off, revealing his six-pack, and used it to wipe off the baby food.

"I love you." Percy said, smiling at me. I turned my head, confused.

"That was random." I said, giggling. Even though it was random, I was still flattered. It's not every day you're hot godly husband tells you he loves you with baby food all over your face.

"I just wanted to let you know." He said, wrapping his arms around me and smirking. I set Charlie in his high chair.

"Should I ask Hazel to babysit the kids for us?" I whispered, trailing my fingers up and down his abs.

Percy leaned in kissed me on the forehead, pulling me close into him.

"I think that would be perfect." He whispered in my ear, reaching for my hand and pulling me up to his room.
