Hindi nagbago ang pakikitungo nila sa isa’t isa nang maging high school sila.

They were classmates.

They were seatmates.

They have separate friends at time but at the end of the day they meet each other and catch up.

They are study partners.

They understand and complement each other.

Pero sa nararamdaman ni Sam ay may nagbago.

She knew deep in her heart she loves him.

She loves her best friend.

Not in a friendly way.

And it was both a happy and scary feeling.

It was the Junior Prom during eighth grade.

She dress gorgeously. She was wearing a baby blue colored-off shoulder gown as she went down the stairs.

Her hair was French-twisted but some were down and curled.

She was wearing a shy smile.

She felt nervous everytime, she saw him.

He was her partner.

“You’re so beautiful,” Ren whispered as he kiss her hand.

She thanked her light make up to cover her blushing cheeks.

“Thanks, you too,” she complemented back.

“Yan tayo eh,” natatawang sabi ni Ren saka siya iginiya sa sasakyan nitong binigay ng Daddy nito.

The night was so magical.

“You are so gorgeous tonight,” bulong ni Ren habang sumasayaw sila.

“Ikaw ha…kanina mo pa binibilog ang ulo ko,” pabiro niyang sabi.

“It’s true,” seryosong sabi nito.

She looked away.

Parang sasabog ang puso niya sa paraan ng pagtitig nito.

She felt ecstatic.

He looked at her tenderly as they swayed to the music.

‘We go to a party
And everyone turns to see…’

She can’t believe it!

Ren was singing the song as they danced and looked at each other.

‘This beautiful lady
That’s dancing around with me…’

Sam giggled as he tried to change the lines appropriate to what is happening to them that time.

Pinaikot pa siya nito.

‘And then she asks me
Do you feel alright
And I say ‘yes’
I feel wonderful tonight…’

Niyakap niya ito matapos patakan ng mabining halik sa kanyang noo.

Humiling siya na sana ay hindi na matapos pa ang gabing iyon.

Siya lamang ang isinayaw nito buong gabi.

She really felt special.

At that time, she knew.

She was falling deeply in love with her best friend.
