Persephone's POV
"Oof..." I gasp as my body collides with the mat for the fourth time within the last ten minutes. Anastasia helps me stand silently dismissing me from the training simulation, and Robin takes my place with a scared but determined look.
"What's got Div- I mean Wonder Woman in such a mood?" Beastboy asks glumly massaging the sore muscles in his back because we have been at this a while. Jaime agrees slouching against the wall with a low groan, and it dawns on me that they're still new.
Training with Ana is taken very seriously around here, and it's usually excluded to the members of the team that can handle it. Meaning the og members and the batkids. Cassie and I only get in on the fun because we're family, the golden blonde literally being her aunt.
"Nothing it's just her Amazon training taking over. To them it's something sacred, and training sessions usually last all day, and you're just expected to be well behaved and disciplened." Cassie explains her eyes scanning over to Ana and Robin who are currently caught up in a very intense duel.
She occasionally shouts things out, and he nods sometimes saying a thank you. Cassie's eyes fill with wonder and admiration as she watches Ana strategically move like she was born for this, but I guess she was.
When I first met Cassie I thought she was an overly happy person who jumped at any chance to please the older heroes around us, but now I know she just wants live up to the expectations Anastasia left behind.
"Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I overheard her and Nightwing talking about how she hates what the Amazons taught her." Gar continues, but now we're all watching as Robin miraculously manages to dodge the demigoddess.
"She does, but certain habits die hard." I add smiling as Anastasia stops extending her hand, and when he goes to shake it she pulls him into her side patting his back.
"She won't admit this, but when it comes to training the batkids are her favorites." Cassie chuckles, but now she's no longer staring at Anastasia, now at the short protege who looks delighted and terrified at the same time.
"Looks like demigods have a type for little birds." I chirp playfully the two other guys looking at me like I'm crazy, but Cassie is as red as a tomato. Exactly what I wanted.
"Percy we talked about-"
"Wonder Girl, Hex, suit up for mission debrief in ten. The rest of you continue training Anastasia's face says you're disappointing her." Nightwing chuckles coming around the corner his cheery demeanor waking us all up.
Cassie jumps up wrapping her arms around my neck gleefully, and I force a smile biting back my nerves trying to remind myself what Zatanna said.
"One, I'm not disappointed..." Anastasia speaks up shooting a quick glare in Nightwings direction, but he just brushes it off. "Two, you two better be careful. I don't have time to come save your butts."
----------
Persephone's POV
"The other boom tube hotspots have all been busts, but this much security must be guarding some big deal alien stuff, right." Cassie gushes excitedly bumping me with her shoulder trying to get me to add something, but I'm not feeling in the mood right now because I have to stay focused.
"Our job is to find out. Batgirl, take the north hangar. I'll take the south. Bee, the middle. Hex, turn invisible and be the look out from over the building. Wonder Girl, hold position." M'gann instructs using her authoritative in charge voice.
