Persephone's POV

I drop into the cave my hands touching the ground immediately making the ground hotter, and the Martain Beetle trapped in Cassie's lasso cries in pain at the heat. He turns his hand into a plasma canon, and I lift both of mine trying to focus on draining the energy from it like I did last time.

"I'd like to see you try without my help." Klarion's cackle rings through my ears, but instead of scared or irritated I just feel determined. I've been practicing, I still have bad days, but usually I can sense them. Today so far is not going to be one of those days.

I spare a glance around the cave worrying that I don't see Ana since she was supposed to be with Zatanna and Rocket, but I can't worry to much in my current predicament.

He knocks down Cassie, and poor Gar is trying to fight it in the form of an elephant, but it's really no use. Pushing a little more I close my eyes, and when I've opened them the plasma energy is coming straight to my hands.

I hold the connection a little longer waiting until Zatanna starts her spell, and with what I can I cast a small hex and send it up to her. It won't do anything, but make her feel undeniably confident, but it's something.

When Rocket drops her bubble I drop my arms Green Beetles rigid body drooping as I let him go. "Fools!" Blue Beetle shouts, and I turn around panicked. I feel two hands settle on my shoulders pulling me back reminding me this is the plan. "You will all die!"

It all happens so quickly all I catch is Bart running in in a blur throwing Green in front of the blast Blue meant for Zatanna, and then the glowing blue Queen Beetle expands lighting the Temple up to the point I can't see.

All I know is Tim, Cassie and I hold onto each other for dear life as the whole Temple shakes around us, and we're blindly hit by falling rocks.

Then just as quickly as it starts it stops, and I help both of my friends stand back up from where they fell into each other's arms. "That looked pretty cozy. Should I have left you there?" I ask Cassie as I whisk her away snickering at Tim's embarrassment.

"Are you ever going to give this up?" She sighs looking me in the eyes, but unable to hide the blush on her cheeks. "Only when you're happily together." The blush that's already taking over spreads as she glances behind her to make sure Tim's not paying attention, which he's not. He's prepping his holographic computer for something.

Our teammates are discussing in hushed whispers, or in Batgirl's case proud declarations, on whether or not the Beetles are back in control. Jaime seems convincing enough, and if there were less people in here I'm sure he would be dancing around. Still, I'm listening to Anastasia's warnings and being diligent.

"Reading no external signals since Zatanna worked her mojo. Neither Beetle is in contact with the Reach." Tim declares reading his scanner, and I step forward twisting my fingers a hex fueled with reality energy dancing over them my mind asking them to reveal their true forms.

Nothing changes so that's a relief, and when my body floods with ease everyone else seems to as well, and Bart runs forward blabbing something. "They're good." I state simply needing to give no more of an explanation, but I can feel the smile on my face break out as Jaime runs forward to hug Zatanna.

"Oh, right. Like you're happy." Jaime chuckles as I step forward, and Bart looks to me confusion written in the irises of his mossy green eyes. "I am, I swear!" He protests back.

Jaime seems to be stuck in his head, and I can't help but laugh at Bart's butt hurt look. "You know, I believe you." Jaime speaks again still looking up.  "Of course you do. Up high." Jaime sighs, looking to me a dopey but cheerful grin on his face as he returns the gesture making Bart giddy all over again.

"Voice in your head?" I ask pointing to my own, and he nods a silent understanding passing through us. "Yeah, yours still there?"

"Depends on the day, he must not be in the mood to prod right now." I laugh crossing my fingers behind my back that I haven't jinxed it.

"Which means it's time to go." Everyone leaves following Barbara's command, but I only caught half of the conversation. It's Zatanna who starts shoving me out the door, and when we're half way out I remember the person who is still missing.

"Where's Ana? She's supposed to be with you."

"She couldn't make it," is the only answer I get before Zatanna runs off whispering something quickly to Raquel.

Anastasia's POV

This is not good, so very not good. I rub my eyes checking it over an over again hoping an eyelash that isn't there is disrupting my vision. It's not changing.

This could not have come at a worse time, with the fall of the Light right around the corner, I'm going to be needed. But not like this, there's no way I could put myself out there after finding this out.

Our front door opens, and I can make out Wally's speedy footsteps from where I'm at on our bed. He's making his way in here, and suddenly I'm scrambling to hide the item I've been staring at for an hour.

I'm not sure why though, I'm going to share this with him so why prolong it? He won't be mad either, just scared with everything that's going on. Sure a few more days and the Light issue will be over, but even after that I stand with the League until my mother returns. We're both still college students, and I'm a representative for Themyscira that means people are on me at all times. Not to mention the Light could still be keeping tabs on me, what will they do if they find out I'm...

I just don't know how-

"Ana? Babe are you alright?" I look up my eyes probably looking completely lost to his concerned ones, but if I have the strength to fight several enemies most would cower from I can do this.

"Wally, I have to tell you something..." My voice drops off and I hand him what I've been troubled by.
