Persephone's POV

"We could take a break from training," I breathe out breathlessly collapsing on the mat. Rolling onto my back I glare up at Tim who stands over me with a knowing smirk, and while his face is usually comforting right now it's nothing but irritating.

"And do what?" He asks genuinely sounding puzzled, and he innocently looks around the cave then back to me like he actually couldn't find anything. "I don't know maybe normal teenager stuff?" I prop up on my elbows trying to hide the fact that I'm out of breath since he's still perfectly fine.

"Don't take this the wrong way, but you're not a typical teenager." He laughs awkwardly pointing at his eyes like I don't already know they glow red, I definitely needed the clarification. "One that's exactly why I want to do it, and two just because you're my best friend does not mean you get to be rude to me."

"C'mon, you know I think you're eyes are badass." He laughs again reaching his hand out a little to help me up, but I stay still mock gaping at him. "Did little Timothy Drake just say a potty word? Do I need to call Batman?"

"Just because you're my best friend doesn't mean you get to be rude to me." He quickly counters forcing me up even as I start to whine. "You can't use my own logic against me." Standing back on my feet I cross my arms while popping my hip unhappily, the ground was so much easier for my aching quads.

"I can, I will, and if you can beat me without your powers we'll spend the weekend watching whatever shows or movies you want at the manor." Immediately I groan because we both know I can't do that, but even if he beats me we both know he'll still binge with me.

"Why no powers?" I argue.

"Because one day you might not have them when you need them," he counters using that logical voice of his that makes everyone feel like an idiot. "Like I could ever be so lucky..." I mumble under my breath, but before he can say anything else I quickly change the subject.

"Besides, I doubt I'm even allowed in the sacred bat family home." I tease trying to hide my obvious discomfort, but Tim being the annoyingly great friend he is picks up on it. "Why wouldn't you be?" He asks innocently his domino mask squishing up like a confused puppy.

"I don't know, maybe it's because Batman thinks I'm evil?" I shrug knowing I look more nonchalant than I feel because the Bat is a great detective he's obviously picking up on something everyone else isn't.

Tim honestly just laughs setting a carful hand on my shoulder his face doing that caringly serious thing. "Sometimes I think Bruce is evil." Scoffing I brush his hand off my shoulder swiftly exiting the training area as my eyes catch Ana and Conner entering the room.

"Seriously though the definition of evil is profoundly immoral, and what technically classifies as immoral?" Tim continues to rant chasing after me down the hallway towards my room. "I'm not in the mood for your nonsense tangents," I laugh lightly.

"This isn't a tangent it's a statement. Lying is considered immoral, so by not telling you who I was by definition I'm evil." He continues, and even though I see his point he's still biased because I'm his friend. "We all do questionable things, some are more obvious than others, but you can't single yourself out. Especially since you've never purposefully done anything wrong.

"Are you trying to make me feel better?" I ask.

"Yeah, how am I doing?"

"A damn good job." I chuckle giving him a quick hug, and for once that menacing voice in my head is overpowered by his telling me I'm not evil.
