Anastasia's POV
"Attention Warworld, this is Captain Atom of the Justice League representing planet Earth. We wish to open negotiations." I stand between Aquaman and Nightwing arms crossed fully ready to take on the planet slowly inching towards us.
"But I am uninterested in negotiations." Standing strong, even as the metal like planet opens up and loads its weapons, I look to Captain Atom happily anticipating what's coming.
He nods only the slightest bit of hesitation crossing his silver almost reflective face, and I force an overly large smile my best move for easing someone's nerves. "How long can you hold that divine energy field again?" I shrug honestly not really sure.
"Long enough to not die I hope." The other three heads in the room turn steadily and in sync towards me, and if there wasn't a weapon the size of Pluto outside the window I would laugh at the abnormalness. "Honestly thirty seconds is my record, and the shield only projects so far." I admit suddenly feeling not so powerful.
"Oh I know that face, I've seen your mother wear it too many times. You're still the powerhouse up here." Aquaman chuckles the sound coming right from his stomach and echoing through the Watchtower. For antics he pulls me into his side and ruffles my hair like I'm still a child.
"I definitely wouldn't go that far..." Now I'm awkwardly stuck here with my superiors and best friend expectantly looking at me like they're waiting for me to agree. I have power, I'm not going to be modest when there's no point, but a lot of people on the League are just as powerful.
"Even more so if you would consider taking the bracelets off." Captain adds and my hands immediately grip at my silver plated gauntlets like he's going to rip them off himself. "I swore nearly six years ago that I wouldn't take them off, that if my own will wasn't enough then it wasn't meant to be."
He just nods leaving it at that, and I breathe a sigh of relief. I don't know what I would do if any of them pushed it and ordered me to do so.

Anastasia's POV
"I'm not sure we're doing a lot in the grand scheme..." Captain Atom's voice drones on as I catch two speeding missiles and hurl then back at the War World successfully taking out a portion of the guns and launchers. "Speak for yourself Captain!" I shout through my helmet, clanking my bracelets together mustering the biggest explosion of divine energy that I can several more missiles exploding.
Weaving through the laser beams I punch several of the explosives back where they came from. I duck under a few before shooting straight up spinning as I do, and my hands reach out crushing two between my fingers when they get to close.
I stop moving when I have a clearing. This time I just slide my bracelets against each other at least fifty missiles getting stuck in my divine energy wall, and after some time resisting they disentergrate away.
While regaining my breath one missile is coming right at me, so I grab it the force making me backflip over myself and as I do I rip it in half. I zig zag through the lasers clashing my arms together quickly letting out short bursts of energy destroying ten at a time.
"Our odds would be a little better if you would take those off." Billy yells as he loops over the top of me. "Not gonna happen Marvel, these babies wouldn't come off even if they could." Which is true. Being apart of the League means I get cushy upgrades like a super high tech space suit with my bracelets imbedded in the sleeves.
"Look out!" I look up just in time to hear Captain Atom shout, but not fast enough to move. Instead I let the explosion, how it went off I don't know we're in space, project me backwards and I tuck into a tight ball to protect myself rolling over my head three times.
Once I stop rotating my arms instantly cross over each other, and a divine explosion bigger than the last two shoots out and expands out trapping everything in front me. When the yellow glow melts away there's nothing left in front of me but the Warworld, at least until the guns ready themselves again and the missiles threaten to launch again.
But they don't.
I fly over to where Captain Atom, Captain Marvel, and Green Beetle are waiting with the bioship; and the whole time I'm side eyeing the Warworld waiting for them to go off. "The surface weapons are down. Is it over?"
"Mongul is down and contained." I'm so relieved hearing Conner's reassurance that I let gravity flip me forward as let out a little whoop of joy. "Nice work alpha," Batgirl agrees. When I look up at her I see she's laughing at me while Tim's trying not to snicker. "I would love to take credit, but we didn't do it. His own machine stung him, I'm guessing with a little help."
The Warworld starts to close up, and the other weapons retract leaving nothing but the sleek metal exterior. Even the glowing that the planet was emitting dims. "Great work League, let's head back to the Watchtower for a debriefing." We all nod, and when Atom is finished Doctor Fate opens up another portal.
I fly through the yellow circle that looks like it leads nowhere, and as soon as I touch the floor of the Watchtower Raquel is already all over me. She stretches grimacing as her back and arms crack and groan, glaring at me when I giggle at her spectacle.
"Don't judge I'm old," she sighs rubbing at her eyes once she's taken off her goggles. "How do you think that makes me feel? I'm older than you by a few months." I chuckle giving my best pout, but it probably just looks like tired eyes.
"Honey let's face it, we're married now so we're practically ancient." I look her over my own face settling into a look of disbelief. Her choppy and still very dark hair swishes as she shakes her head, her smile makes me smile, and her eyes always seem to tell me I know better. Old isn't exactly the word I would use to describe us.
"I don't know my poll dancing classes tell me something different." I tease lowering my voice a little as our older male colleagues walk by oblivious. "Well with these legs no wonder, and I'm sure Wally can't keep his eyes off them."
"I think he actually thinks it's odd. I haven't worn anything but sweats and joggers for the last six months." She's about to respond, but Black Canary walks over to us probably wanting to know how the mission went. "Okay rookies what's all the gigling about?"
My cheeks grip as I try to keep my nervous and embarrassed smile under control, and when l look at Raquel she's fine minus the pink dusting her cheeks. "Oh, please don't make me tell you. You probably don't even want to know, it would just scar you."
With a shake of her head her smirk only stays, and based on my nerves she probably knows which just makes this more tortuous. "Debrief in five ladies, and lets keep the giggles to a minimum please." We both bow our heads respectfully, but we're just hiding while our laughter threatens to continue.
"I want the floor to swallow me whole." I groan lifting my head when I've calmed down, and even though Raquel had calmed down too her eyes are still laughing crinkling in the corners like mine feel they are.
"This is why work and home are supposed to be kept separate," she agrees.
