Persephone's POV

"Since when do you stay behind to play coordinator?" Anastasia looks up from her console of controls and holographic computers to give me a quick unimpressed glare. "Since I am told to do so." I groan quietly leaning against the console, sometimes I swear I can't read her.

"But it makes no sense, you're one of the only ones that's ever fought these guys." This time she does not look up not giving me the satisfaction of paying me attention. Even she has to admit that I make a very valid point, she's not only faced them but she's one of our strongest assets.

"You will do fine," she states strongly almost convincing me that she really thinks we stand a chance. "Please, I don't understand-"

"I don't expect you to-"

"Because I'm not old enough?" I cut her off for doing so to me. It's what they always say, you'll understand why we're protective when you're older, you'll understand why we keep secrets when you're older, and so on and so on.

"No, because I have not told you, but when I do you'll understand." She responds calmly still not looking up, and now I'm unsure of how I feel. "I thought we were done with secrets. First the whole undercover debacle, and now this?" Saying I was hurt when I found out the truth is an understatement, but after Tim calmed me down I could see why the senior members saw it was necessary.

"I seem to remember a certain someone keeping secrets from me too a few months back." She says giving me a wicked side eye, and suddenly I feel like standing taller messing with my messy ponytail that I didn't have the patience to make look good. "If you're trying to call me out on my hypocrisy I don't care."

"I wouldn't expect you too," she chuckles. "But I do ask you to respect my privacy." There's a long pause of silence, but just as I'm about to leave unable to handle her cold shoulder a thought strikes me.

"There's no reason to be scared." I try again figuring I'm going at it all wrong, if she really wanted to go she would be fighting Nightwing tooth and nail to do so. After everything the Light has done to her I thought she would eager to berid of them, but I guess even demigods can shy away when faced with something this daunting from their past.

"Oh but I'm scared, just not for the reasons you're thinking of." She laughs coming over to me crouching since she towers over my stature that barely reach five foot.

She takes my hands in hers trying to fight tears which confuses me since she's smiling broadly. "Go get ready for your mission."

So something is definitely up... But what?

Anastasia's POV

I can hear a faint zip from behind me that most would not notice, but I've grown so accustomed to the sound I can pick it from a mile away. "Boo," Wally whispers in my ear gentle hands resting on my sides like he's scared to hurt me. "You didn't scare me, I heard you."

"But one of these days I will," he tisks chin dropping on my shoulder as I mumble an unconvinced sure.

"How are you? Do you need anything?" He suddenly blurts jumping over the console so he can get under my stare. "Wally I'm fine, I've actually never been better." Chuckling I remember how worried I was just last week, but the more I think about it the better I feel.

That may be because Wally convinced me to not worry about work and money right now, I know he's scared but he doesn't want me to be, and that helped. "Thanks for going out there for me." I whisper sitting up on console once I've powered it down, and he joins me.

"I'll admit I like it, but throughout the whole thing all I could think about was kissing you and then killing you for getting us involved." I slug his shoulder, but this time he doesn't push back. Instead when I look at him he's just gazing at me like I watched Mal stare at Karen.

"I wouldn't mind one of those things." His laughter that fills the Watchtower, that's now bustling with activity, makes me feel dizzy. I lean in capturing his lips with mine reaching up with my hand so my fingers can trace the patterns of freckles on his cheeks. He's soft and caring hands grazing me still afraid to touch, so with my free hand I grasp both of his in mine.

"Hey Ana! Guess what my favorite cousin, well... Only cousin, told me!" We pull apart quickly still bleary eyed from the kiss, but I try my best to focus on Bart who's about to phase through the floor. "What-"

"He said after this I can become Kid Flash for him!" He shouts running a quick and short lap around the room before he stops back in front of us catching us both in a tight hug. Wally almost flips out when he almost knocks us over, but I squeeze his hand telling him it's okay.

"Why don't you go tell your friends Bart?" The way his green eyes light up, and how he grows about a foot taller fills my stomach with happy butterflies and I have to set my hands on my stomach to calm them. As Bart zooms off Wally places his hands on top of mine fingers lightly tapping a rhythm.

A few minutes pass, Percy comes up asking if she can spend the night with Cassie, and we of course agree. But I force Wally up when I see the Warworld leaving orbit from the window across the room.

"I'm guessing we didn't activate that?" I ask jogging up next to Dick and Kaldur Wally behind me. "Nice observation," my loving fiancee drawls and I smack his shoulder knowing very well he won't retaliate.

"Ana, Wally, tell Kaldur he deserves to lead the team." Dick changes the subject as Captain Atom races from the room with the other Leaguers that were thrown out. "Now I thought that was obvious. Dick's a great leader, but the stress is making him look more twenty instead of eighteen." I ruffle Dick's hair making my other male friends laugh as he tries to fix my masterpiece.

"Business aside it's good to see you, Ana. Wally tells me-"

"Shh!" I hiss looking around to make sure no one heard, but after I wrap my arms around him catching him off guard. "I've missed you too."

"Not as much as you missed me right?" I look up arms still wound around Kaldur's neck to see Artemis making her way over with Conner and M'gann. "Artemis!" I shriek practically jumping over Kaldur ignoring Wally's gasp of protest. She wraps me up holding me tightly, but carefully.

"Wally told me-"

"He just can't keep his mouth shut, just remember it stays within the original team." I explain because they're the only ones that I think need to know right now so they can help me, and Wally and I planned to tell everyone else once my mom returns. "Which includes..."

"Us, Roy, Zatanna, and Raquel." I open up our hug bringing M'gann into my side, and Artemis grabs Kaldur forcing him in. Wally hugs my backside, Dick in M'gann's side while Conner tries to get away but is pulled in by our youngest member. We gaze out the wide window down to the Earth and home we've sworn to protect.

"I'm still sorry the Light got away, I was sure they would be one less thing we would have to worry about." Kaldur sighs, but the next thing I hear is him groaning as I'm guessing Artemis kicked him. "They're exposed, no more shadows to hide light." My voice is strong, but there's still a part of me that's unconvinced.
