R I V E R

It hurt to watch my girl up in the window watching as I left to take her father down. I looked at Noah who was as nervous. He had to leave Justice who I assumed threw as much as a fit if not more as my girl. Kat was more of a, you should know I'm angry at you and how much.

I can't believe I'm doing this without her. She's my future wife, she's the mother of my child. She better not have that kid without me or I will race home.

She's letting me do it to get it done, but I can't help but think it's wrong without her here. It's both of our fight not just mine not just hers. He tried to kill me and was gonna use her in the process. No doubt he'd use our baby too.

Before I knew it we were on the private strip and Noah was sulking like me. I sighed as we pulled up to the hanger where the plane was already sitting. I had men fly over last night on a bigger flight and anyone who didn't make it is on a one this morning.

"Good evening Mr. Romano, the flight will be quicker. You had suggested we take the faster plane and we have." The first officer informs me as I enter but I just couldn't listen to anyone. I needed this to be quick and painless.

I was anxious the entire way over, Kat is so absolutely close to having our baby. Her father is a nuisance at this point and I can't help but freak out. I should have stayed back with Kate, but what kind of leader would I be.

Everything is a jumbled mess as we finalize our plans upon landing. The knots of butterfly nerves in my stomach were unusual. I was not scared I was anxious, maybe fear was placed there but it wasn't about the results of this small fight.

The wheels touched the ground and Noah stood placing a hand on my shoulder. I nodded to him following his lead to my feet. A few closer members watched as I made my way still deep in thought to the door.

My feet touched the ground in what I had been making my home. Where I found my girl. My one and only, for now. SUVs were parked out for us and we were gonna load up and immediately go out to the warehouse.

I climbed into the front one with a jumbled mind. My intentions of this fight elsewhere, did I want to kill my fiancé's father?

My heart was conflicted and it was becoming difficult for me to focus on what was at hand. Is it fair to just walk in and shoot him?

My fiancé, my poor fiancé. Her father who's terrorized her and now must pay the ultimate price; his life.

The next thought was of my unborn child, it can't grow up without a father. I'll be there to watch it marry it's loved one. Every parent should be given that right.

The men were talking between each other. This operation wasn't one of difficulty, it's was just hard for me to figure the right decision.

Noah was busy telling the men what to do as I loaded my handguns. I was staring off into space when I felt a heavy hand on my shoulder.

"River, she'll be fine. Your father is there." Noah sent me a look of encouragement but didn't know that that wasn't my issue.

"Yeah you're right." I nod following the men who began their raid. I shot a few stragglers but my men mainly caught them by surprise.

"Boss!" I heard Andante call and I made my way after him. He was standing with three others of my men. All pointing guns at something in a room.

I pushed through their wall and found Noah standing next to Madden with the barrel of his gun on Maddens temple.

"So you're here to?" Madden asked in confusion and I chuckled holstering my gun. I suspect that he hadn't thought we would come.

"I'm here to kill you," I shrugged and leaned against the doorframe. I signaled the men watching from behind me to secure the perimeter.

"Why would you do that? You are some sort of Italian?" He asked still in unaware, he doesn't remember me from his house. He doesn't remember me from his attempt at the ball? He's bluffing.

"River Romano," I picked a fuzzy off my shirt because I was still wondering what to do.

"What do you want?" He asked sounding bored and I wanted to humor him somehow.

"Ya see I'm protecting something from the heavens, and I have to make absolute sure that you can't screw this up for me?" My thoughts were a jumbled mess at this point and I had no idea what I was truly saying anymore.

"My daughter? My wife?" He asked and Noah nodded for me. "Please let me see them before I die."

"No, you've already caused them too much heartbreak." I stood to my full height and pulled my gun out. I point it at his forehead ready for the kickback.

"I want to see the woman I married made love with, those children that I so carefully raised. The only reason why I'm still on this earth. How would you feel Romano if you were about to be killed and you couldn't tell that one person that you love them and will miss them? Let me talk to what's left of my family." He cried out, tears fell and my heart ached at the thought of not saying those things to my parents or Noah. Not being able to say that to the two most important people in my life, one who's stressed beyond measure that I'm here without her.

"Fine, you may bid them goodbye. I'd rather have your daughter deal with you anyway. You are her kill." I made the signal go round up and we're headed back. My only hope is that I am making the right decision.

"Thank you." Madden bound in chains followed after me as we neared the cars. The man seems slightly pathetic when watching him walk.

"Don't thank me yet." I nod as the men shoved him into a car and I went to a different car.

My thoughts went to my family. My child and my love who were all anxiously waiting for us to be home.

"I'll see you soon." I whispered as I let myself take a much needed nap.
