Untitled Part 21

      Commander Lazarius Thereaux sat in his leather chair while everyone else stood. He gestured to his second in command Miko Kinnetta. Miko walked pver slowly and leaned down so that Commander Thereaux could whisper something into his ear.

        Miko nodded and returned to his place, about twenty paces to the right of Lazarius Thereaux.

        "This is the girl?" Commander Thereaux pointed at Sandra.

        She stared back, then let her gaze falter.

        "Yes.This is Sandra Ardon. She has violated two laws."Patricia Morlinson stood at attention, her body stiff and pernacious.

        "Name these laws this woman has violated Miss Morlinson."

        Patricia removed her case form from the table before her.

        Dr. Stanley Rubicon's face shifted, suddenly his teeth met, pressing tightly against each other. He dared not look over, but he could sense Patricia's hidden grin.

        She opened the plastic envelope and lifted out the sheet, reading from it, her voice higher in volume. "Miss Sandra Ardon has had an unauthorized pregnancy, that's count one, count two is she refuses to reveal the fathers name."

        "Really?" Commander Lazarius Thereaux's voice was like a heavy hiss which took its time in pronounciation. He leaned forward from his chair and rested his elbows on the table where everyone stood encircling. "Well, Miss Ardon. These are serious crimes brought against you. We undoubtedly will have to keep Melanie in proper care until these proceedings can take place. As for now, Deputy Greanley take Miss Sandra Ardon into stage one arrest." 

        Sandra couldn't talk. Her tongue wouldn't move as First Deputy Ted Greanley placed a hand on her shoulder and led her out of the room. 

        Patricia Morlinson collected the files and slipped them back into the envelope. She left them on the table, then looked at Commander Thereaux, awaiting his order.

       "You can leave those there for me to go over. Thank you Miss Morlinson. Everyone may go now. Apparently, I have a lot of work to do."
