I ran through the forest, laughing the whole way. My sister is coming to visit tomorrow, so I’m just so happy right now! I skipped through the forest, careful not to go in to deep, when I tripped on a log and fell to the ground.

“Ah, fudge!” I yelled. My ankle was twisted, and it hurt like hell to move it. Great, just what I bloody need!

Suddenly I heard something move is the brush; I heard twigs snapping as someone stepped on them. Who else was out here?

A man stepped through the brush, his face was frantic, as if he was searching for something. When his eyes met mine his face softened and a smile appeared on his face.

“Hello,” he spoke, taking a step closer to me.

Looking closer at him, I was stunned by his good looks. His skin was so pale, but looked so smooth, I wanted to stroke it, to see how smooth it really is. His eyes were a beautiful green colour, with dark brown hair this man was beautiful. Moving my eyes down to his biceps I saw how much muscle he had, they weren’t really large, but I could tell he was strong. Looking back to his face I saw an amused expression, then I remembered I am yet to reply.

“Oh, right. Hi,” I said, a small shy smile on my lips.

“Are you alright?” he said, gesturing to my body that was still lying on the ground.

“Yeah,” I said, I attempted to stand up, but the pressure I put on my ankle shot pain through my leg, and I cried out again.

“Fudge! No, no I’m not,” Chuckling, he replied.

“Would you like me to help you get home?” I looked into his eyes, trying to figure out if I should trust him. I saw nothing but sincerity and worry in them, and with that, I trusted this complete stranger.

“Y-yes please.” I smiled shyly again. He took a few steps towards me, before picking me up bridal style and he began walking.

“Sorry, it’s the easiest way,” he smiled at me.

“Oh um, don’t worry about it.” It felt nice being in his arms, I swear I felt small sparks of electricity at his touch.

“My name is Alexander, but please call me Alex,”

“Oh, alright. My name is Lily,”

“It’s very nice to meet you Lily,” He smiled down to me again.

“Same to you, Alex,” I smiled back.

Alex’s POV.

I dumped the carcass away from me, I stood and brushed the leaves off of me. I heard a small scream coming from the forest, and I could tell it was not far from my position. I started speed walking towards the human I could smell, not to kill them, but to see if they were alright. I stepped through some brush, I felt frantic, what if another vampire was around? I stopped short when I saw a beautiful girl lying on the forest floor. I felt a pull towards her, she was glowing in my eyes. I felt my lips turn into a smile.

“Hello,” I said to the beautiful girl. She just stared at me, eyes wide, shock written all over her face. I knew what she was looking at, my beauty. That’s one thing we vampires have, inhuman beauty. I just stared back with an amused expression on my face, and once she had finished staring at my biceps her eyes met mine again and she blushed.

“Oh, right. Hi,” she smiled shyly towards me.

“Are you alright?” She still hadn’t tried to stand.

“Yeah,” she said, moving to stand up, but when she put pressure on her leg I saw her face turn into one of pain, and she screamed again. “Fudge! No, no I’m not!” I couldn’t help but chuckle at this amazing girl.

“Would you like me to help you get home?” I would love to get to know her, I think she may be my soul mate. She looked straight in my eyes, probably trying to figure out if I’m some paedophile or something, she seemed satisfied with whatever she saw, because she replied,

“Y-yes please,” I noticed her stutter, it was so cute. I took a few steps closer to her, and picked her up bridal style. Sparks of electricity ran through me when we made contact, and from that I knew she was my soul mate.

“Sorry, it’s the easiest way,” I smiled towards my true love.

“Oh um, don’t worry about it,”

“My name is Alexander, but please call me Alex,” I need to know her name, age everything about her!

“Oh alright. My name is Lily,” Lily, such a beautiful name for such a beautiful girl.

“It’s very nice to meet you Lily,” I smiled towards my love again.

“Same to you Alex,” she smiled at me. A real smile, not the small shy ones she gave me before. She looked so beautiful when she smiled, she took my breathe away.

“How old are you, Lily?”

“I’m 15, But I turn 16 tomorrow,” she remembered something and smiled. I however kept a straight face, I cannot be with her until she turns 18, my heart sank as I thought of having to wait 2 years to be with her.

“Happy birthday for tomorrow,” I smiled this time though, happy to see her happy.

“Thank you,”

“Which house is yours?”

“The white one,” I took her to the door, and hesitated.

“Should I take you inside?”

“Um, yeah probably, if that’s alright?” I just smiled and nodded.

She fished through her pocket, retrieving her keys.

Unlocking the door, I stepped inside. Her house was plain yet beautiful. The position of things was perfect, nothing too boring.

“Where shall I take you?” I wish I could be with her right now, but I know I cannot.

“The couch is fine, thanks,” she smiled slightly again.

I put her down, and stood to leave.

“Thank you, Alex. Will I see you again?” She asked a small frown on her face.

I grinned at her, taking her hand and kissing it.

“Yes,” and with that I left my love lying on the couch. Little did she know I would always be with her, I would watch her from a distance, until her eighteenth birthday. Little did she know, I will be her guardian angel… Or rather her guardian vampire.
