Ottawa

i woke up early again and hungry too i looked through the bars to see hunter was already awake "morning" he said before sticking his head out the stall i did too the stable hand walked over with two halters one peach colored which was mine and the other a dark grey color he slipped a halter on me and hunter and lead us out he took me into a field and left the halter on but took the lead and he walked somewhere with hunter i turned around and started walking through the field and i spotted other horses i ran over to them and it was two mares one was storm and another which was a heavy horse that had the same coat as me "hello i'm Luna" the heavy mare said "i'm Lotta its nice to meet you" i greeted and we grazed for a while till we heard a loud bang our ears perked up and three people came running in they quickly grabbed us and did what was called 'tacking us up' then they jumped on our backs hunter ran past with Glenn on his back and the other stallions followed with people on their backs too they all had something in their arms that made a loud bang the person that was on me whipped me to make me run after the others they seemed to be chasing a few rabbits hunter was at the front running as fast as he could i was catching up and getting in front of most of the horses my mane and tail flowing through the wind but there was a fence coming up that the people wanted us to jump it had barbed wire on it though the person on my back whipped me to go faster and urged me to jump all the horses jumped before me so i jumped as high as my legs would let me go and i made it but my front legs got scratched a few bangs went off around me and there was a cliff ahead but the people didn't see it we did all the horses screeched to a halt and the people jumped off our backs and grabbed the rabbits i was out of breath and my legs where sore the people tied rabbits to our backs two each the trees above us made patterns on the ground and the dusty dirt track we had been running down had put dirt on our hocks the person got back on me and ordered me to trot back to the stables we went through a puddle causing mud to splash up on my legs and belly once we got back he took the stuff off me and put me in my stall there where scratches all over me and the mud had dried on me my coat was ruined from the dirt hunter was placed in his stall too but he had been washed off. My legs where splayed and my head low as i tried to catch my breath "you oka- damn!" he said as he looked at me through the bars Glenn walked past my stall but walked back and got mad at how dirty i was "they didn't have the decency to wash you off!" he muttered to himself a he clipped a lead to my halter and led me to a room that had a hose and other stuff in it he hosed me down then started scrubbing at my coat then once all the mud and dirt was off he hosed me down again "there you go" he said patting me he put some cream on the scratches and put me back in my stall "they are here sir" a stable hand called out as he ran in "who is here" Glenn said back "the new Mares sir" he replied "oh of course sure put them in the stables" Glenn said before walking out "new horses" hunter muttered under his breath and in led was a beautiful palomino mare along with a stunning grullo mare they where rippled with muscle but they where the same height as me they where placed in stalls next to mine the palomino one was called Lias and the grullo was called Fay they seemed to be a bit skinny their ribs where showing "hi i'm Lotta" i said to them through the railing "i'm lias and this is fay, we came from a slaughter house" she frowned "whats a slaughter house" me and Hunter said at the same time "its where they kill us but that person Glenn saved us from there" she whinnied with joy "why did they want to kill you guys for?" i asked "because i wasn't fast enough and fay's owner didn't want her anymore" she said "well your here now" i smiled and they where tired from the trip so they dozed off i realized Glenn had forgot to lock my stall so i pushed it open and walked out "hey open mine" Hunter pleaded i went over and attempted to unlock it but i didn't know how i opened the top panel to his stall and he fiddled with the bottom panel and managed to open it and we both ran around it was already dark outside and the only light was the bright barn lights our hoofs clacked on the cement floor and we burst through the barn doors causing an alarm to go off our heads and spirits high we ran into the dark lights of house porches flicked on we ran for the crop field and the grass was swishing along us as we ran through hunter was hard to see from how dark his coat was but i could make out his figure as we ran. we stopped after a while of running and we grazed on the long luscious grass which after we rolled in we found a stream of water and drank from it we splashed through it splashing some one each other and laughing away then we raced each other back to the field where we fell a sleep standing side by side.
