ii. | CATCH FEELS.

"Hello, Andrew? Are you there?", A WOMAN ASKED. She held the phone up to her ear.

Her blonde hair was tied into a neat bun, her whole attire consisting of neat and elegant clothing, presumably for work.

Her coffee colored eyes zeroing in on her daughter, who held her head down.

Aria's hair tumbled down her back in natural curls, loose strands framing her face.

Her icy eyes were no longer hidden beneath her glasses. Long and dark sooty lashes fanned her eyes as she stared down at her thumbs, twiddling them nervously.

"Amy?....shit! I'm sort of busy right now..", a deep voice sound from the other end of the phone. The voice sounded strained.

"It's urgent!", Amy exclaimed impatiently. Her nails dug into the arms of the leather sofa, leaving crescent imprints in their wake.

The voice on the other line attempted to answer before a long and drawn out moan came out, echoing in to the ears of Amy.

"Oh my god! You disgusting pig! I'm here trying to talk to you and you're committing such an inappropriate act! This is why I divorced you. You are nothing but a man who thinks with his lower half.", Amy ranted, her expression taking on an ugly look.

"If all you're going to do is berate me then I'll be hanging up now.", the voice on the line spoke, monotonous; a sort of defense created when talking to her.

"But it's about your daughter!", Amy finally shouted.

"Goodbye, Amy.", a deeper voice startled Amy. There was a trace of hostility directed towards her.

The conversation was cut off as Amy threw her phone across the room.

That voice could belong to one person only.

Demetri. Her ex husband's lover.

"The nerve of that man! Hanging up on me of all people!", she scoffed, narcissistic tendencies emerging.

'I would too..'

The thought played through the mind of Aria yet she didn't have the guts to open her mouth, saying the very statement.

Her mother was not a woman who took kindly to being defied.

It was no wonder that her father divorced her.

If Aria had a choice she would have left her mother and lived with her father but Amy was considered the better parent.

Her father was always traveling for business trips, never staying one place for too long.

He was currently in Milan, attending his lover's fashion show.

Demetri was a big designer, despite using an alias to avoid the press interfering in his private life.

"Aria, you said you wanted a space for yourself, I obliged.", Amy started, gesturing to the penthouse, "But that does not mean you can do as you please. Don't forget who's paying the bills around here."
