But I suppose you've seen it all before

"What do you think he meant? He said 'see' like it meant something more than normal seeing." asked S-2. "I dunno... he didn't say that to me." responded S-1 frowning. "He said he fixed the... uh, laser thing, since the last time when he... uh, did you. Did he tell you what he was doing?" asked S-2. "I don't really remember. I passed out pretty fast." there was and awkward silence. "Oh." S-2 said. "But, uh... he said I could still glow! So you don't have to worry about that!" S-2 stated happily. "That's not what i'm worried about." muttered S-1. S-2 suddenly looked dispirited. "Oh, uh, he said i'm not going blind either! He's going to take them off in a few days! I'm fine!" S-2 exclaimed, gesturing to bandages over his eyes. "That's not it either." said S-1, causing S-2 to tilt his head. "... Don't worry about it. It's probably nothing." reassured S-1.

{later that night}

S-1 woke slowly, blinking as his eyes adjusted to darkness of the room before his eyes locked onto a figure standing on the other side of the laser barrier. But it wasn't Gaster. The figure looked like him but... older. Then another figure emerged from around the corner that looked awfully like his brother but, again, older and wearing a long red scarf that hung down his back. "Bro! Bro, wake up! Wake up!!!" yelled S-1, shaking S-2 awake violently. "Wake up! Wake up, I saw something!" S-2 rubbed his bandaged eyes. "What do you mean?" asked S-2 sleepily. "I saw something! I saw something outside the beams!" S-2 sat up groggily. "Mmph, what'd you see?" he asked. "I saw... I think I saw us" S-1 said, staring at the space the figures had been moments before. "Us?" asked S-2. "Yeah, but... we looked different." "Different? What do you mean? Different how?" S-1 paused. "Different." he responded, frowning at the nothingness beyond the beams. "Can you still see us? Maybe he put a mirror there. Maybe he's testing us." reasoned S-2, looking around blindly. "No... it's gone now. I just saw it for a second." S-2 looked down at the sound of S-1's voice. "That's weird... do you think that's what he meant about seeing?" asked S-2. "Is that what he meant...?" S-1 asked himself, rubbing the base of his jawbone thoughtfully. "But what does that mean?" S-2 yawned. "Are you sure you weren't dreaming?" he asked, resting his head back against the wall. "Maybe... maybe." S-1 mused drowsily. "Let's keep this between you and me, alright?"
