'This is it.' Gaster thought, scanning his hand on the panel next to the door. 'Subject 1 and 2 are going to meet.' he continued as the door slid open silently. Subject 2 stood next to him silently, eyes scanning the room before leaping about a foot in the air and grabbing onto Gasters arm as the terrified sound of rattling bones filled the room. "Don't touch me." Gaster growled, grabbing subject 2's soul and moved subject 2 away from himself. 'I have a tight hold on both their souls.' Gaster reassured himself. "Dun tash me." Subject 2 repeated like a baby just learning to speak. 'So if they fall to fighting it should be a matter of moments to separate them before either is hurt. It's best to be prepared.' he added to himself silently, looking up to the source of the rattling from behind one of the tables on the furthest side of the room. 'I'm not entirely sure what to expect.' he said as subject 1 looked out slowly from behind the table curiosity replacing fear when he saw subject 2. 'They've seen each other... they seem at a loss for what to do." Gaster noted on his clipboard that materialized in front of him. Subject 1 shrunk back behind the table as subject 2 edged closer. 'Subject 1 seems wary.' Gaster continued looking to the sheet momentarily before refocusing his attention to the two skeletons. Subject 2 tilted his hear curiously before making his eyes glow a warm orange glow. 'Subject 2's eyes have begun glowing a warm red-orange color.' he thought as subject 1 emerged fully from behind the table, his left eye glowing a light blue in response. 'This seems to have calmed them a little.' Gaster thought, relieved slightly. 'They are approaching each other...' Gaster thought cautiously tightening his hold on their souls slightly. Subject 1 and 2 stared a each other for a while before subject 2 did something most unexpected. He shoved his hand into subject 1's eye socket. Resulting in a stunned silence from everyone including Gaster himself. Subject 1 responded by poking and prodding subject 2 in return out of pure curiosity. 'They are curious as one may expect.' Gaster noted, getting over his initial shock at what just happened. 'They are the first living thing they've seen aside from myself, after all. They are very eager and quick to learn. Already their level of speech has advanced at an astonishing rate just by speaking to each other.' Gaster wrote as subject 2 lifted up subject 1's arm, pointing to the main part of the arm. "Armm." Subject 2 said before pointing to Subject 1's hand as Subject 1 repeated. "ahm?" he repeated unsure of himself. "Hend." Subject 2 said. "pom." Subject 1 responded, clearly interested. 'As one learns something new.' Gaster scribbled onto the sheet, flipping the page over, just as subject 1's forearm popped clean off. "AAAAAA-" Subject 1 began to scream in fear, staring and pointing at his severed arm. "SHHH! SHHHH!" Subject 2 comforted, "NO CRY!!" Subject 1 calmed down, watching as subject 2 reattached his arm. "See. One ok." Subject 2 said, releasing his grip on subject 1's arm, "One no-mal." 'So the other build off of what they've learned to new heights. A mutual scaffolding, if you will.' Gaster wrote, sitting down in a chair located in a corner of the room and crossing one leg over the other as subject 1 shook his arm vigorously, making a loud rattling sound. 'They are indeed little skeletons.' Gaster noted as Subject 2 joined Subject 1 in their little rattling orchestra. Then they stopped and stared at each other for what felt like eons before subject 2 reached out tentatively to subject one then suddenly withdrawing, looking unsure of what to do. Then he opened his arms again and wrapped Subject 1's head in a tight embrace. '... And they are getting very attached to each other very quickly.' Gaster grumbled aloud softly to himself while writing it down as Subject 1 returned the embrace, closing his eyes in comfort while smiling like a little maniac. Gaster rubbed his chin, deep in thought. 'If I want the two to mature rapidly, leaving them together seems the most obvious choice. At the same time...' Gaster said silently to himself. 'Emotional bonds like this carry their own risks. On the other hand...' He continued, standing and looking to the two skeletons. "Alright, that's enough." he said, taking a hols of their SOULs. '...Perhaps those bonds can be exploited later, should the need arise.'
